Sound Healing

Sound healing is an interesting subject.  It is an old art that is growing in popularity as science catches up with the metaphysical.  There are various types of sound healing including the use of voice, and instruments.   Various instruments are using the field of sound healing including crystal bowls, tuniing forks, and diguridoos.  Crystal bowls may be played on a person over various parts on the body.  They may release energy in the body and make one feel better.

Sound healing and sound therapy is a soothing way to aid in the treatment of illness.  It can used along with traditional medical approaches to help the patient feel better.

Sound must be used with care as it may effect all organs in the body.  Before experimenting with sound it is best to consult with an expert in this area.

I personally reccomend Randy Masters if you are interested in exploring the using of tuning forks.  He has much experience in the area of tuning forks used for sound healing.

If you are intested in learning more about crystal bowls you may consult Elivia Melody or Amrita Cottrell.

If you are interested in learning about how sound effects the nervous system and the ear you may explore the field of psychoaccoustics.

There are also schools which teach sound healing.  I personally attended the Globe Institute in California.  They have a good program in sound healing.

Each musical note may effect certain organs in the body. By listening to a note or musical composition ones feelings may be altered.  By changing the pitch, tempo, or composition of a piece of music one may achieve a desired effect.

By: Roger Wadham | 06/01/2010
Noise canceling headphones are one of those great ideas whose use is really spreading. It was discovered in the 1980's that by recording frequencies in a noisy environment like a car interior, that when the spikes of loud noise were recorded and the reverse sound wave played back instantaneously, they canceled each other out. Silence reigned.

Mercedes rims, indie superstars and radio divas: The best radio stations in the Twin Cities Pt. 2

By: Kasan Groupe | 06/01/2010
There isn’t much variety for music in the Twin Cities, sadly. You basically have one station for all the most marketable genres of music, country, oldies, top 40, and urban. Many of the best stations like KMOJ and Radio K don’t have a very clear signal so you have to be either in a certain part of the city or online to hear them properly. Here is a list of the best radio stations in the Twin Cities.
