The reality is this is something I always wished to do since youth and I eventually made a decision to give it a go. Over the initial few months, it seemed like it wasn't going to occur. Well, I hung in there till everything lined up for me. I'm proud to say that I could play. If you always hankered after to be taught how to play electric guitar, the 1st step is making a promise to yourself that you're going to never surrender. It's so easy just to leave the guitar in the corner and pickup something else. If you stay in the game and find the best learning tools for your style, you will be playing your fave songs! When you get there and call yourself a guitar player, you won't have a single regret. I wish the internet was around back in the early 70's. It's so easy to find a myriad of guitar lesson sites, both free and paid. I ruined so many records trying to learn. I would play a passage, then lift the needle and try to find the beginning of that particular passage. What a pain! Good luck on your start, you won't regret it.
