What elements and factors make a good rap or hip hop artist? What sorts out the men from the boys?. Why do Dre and Eminem make it in the music business (and stay at it) while so many others come and go?. Is there a magic formula? Do people have that 'thing', or is it simply hard work?

Is it their unique way of writing lyrics? Is it the original hooks and beats they provide? Or is it simply that they have immense talent, and no matter what they do, it will just happen for them?
