For anyone trying to get a much needed dose of Scottish indie pop music, a pair of Travis tickets should do the trick. Travis, who has often been credited for paving the way for bands such as Coldplay, Keane and Snow Patrol is going to be on tour through October of this year. The band will be appearing in Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore and Salzburg before settling in the U.K. for a massive tour to cities like Inverness, Edinburgh, Manchester and Liverpool. Fans of this Scottish pop band should check out the current tour schedule and plan to drop in on the world famous band at one of their many stops on the road.
So far, Travis has released several studio albums, beginning with their highly successful record, Good Feeling, which arrived in the stores in 1997. The title of the album was a great indication of the upcoming promise for the band, whose members were looking for their personal niche in the music world. It contained the singles: “All I Want to Do Is Rock” and “Happy,” among others. Shortly after their initial success with their first release, Travis once again blew the competition away with The Man Who. This album had the good fortune of rising to the number one spot on the British charts and it eventually won the Best Album Award at the 2000 Brit Awards. Travis was also named “Best Band.” There was no denying the fact that Travis tickets were the new hot item on the market. Throngs of fans were lining up to get their chance to attend one of their packed concerts.
After the great success of The Man Who, Travis went on to release The Invisible Band, which featured the hits “Sing,” “Side” and “Flowers in the Window.” The album set off another string of successes for the band as they continued to pave their career in the music industry. 12 Memories shortly followed as did Singles, which was a compilation of many of their hit songs. Most recently Travis once again pleased their fans and the music world with the release of The Boy With No Name. Immediately it became a phenomenon, especially with the single “Closer.”
Travis exhibits a unique sound, being that they are in fact a Scottish indie/pop band, a genre that is different in its own right. Because of their originality, they stand proudly apart from the rest and always promise a much needed dose of fresh air when it comes to creating music. Be sure not to miss seeing them live on stage with your own pair of Travis tickets.
