Oberheim synthesizers are one of the most notable among the big family of synthesizers. Oberheim Electronics Company makes these kinds of synthesizers. In 1973, Tom Oberheim founded this company.

The best thing about this synthesizer is that they are of very good quality and are long lasting. Their oscillators and filters are their unique selling prospective.

Tom Oberheim made a synthesizer expander module. It became very successful. And after this success, his company released various polyphonic machines.

There are lots of path breaking Oberheim synthesizers. Oberheims two, four and eight voice synthesizers are very good quality synthesizers. The two-voice synthesizer has a sequencer, which is controlled by a two-channel voltage. Both the four-voice and the eight-voice synthesizers have a special programmer. Both of them can recover sound settings.

Some brilliant Oberheim synthesizers like OB-X, OB-XA have become very popular. They have a good power supply mechanism. Their voice cards are individual. They also consist of a common cabinetry. Some other famous synthesizers made by them are OB-1, OB-8, Xpander, Matrix-6, Matrix-12 and Matrix 1000.

All of their models have one thing in common. All of them are good looking, effective and they will help both the professionals and the amateurs

Oberheim OBX: This model was made in 1979. It is an 8 voice analogue synthesizer. It has got a standard memory and speicher. This system has a subtractive analogue. The technology of this system is also very good. It has got 2 OSCs, 1LFO and 1 Filter. It includes 61 keys.

Oberheim OB-XA: It was built in the year 1981. It is an eight-voice synthesizer. All the main features of this model are similar to the OB-X. But some of the parts of this model are modified than the previous one. This model includes a split. It can be expanded to 8 voice from 4 voice. 2 voice cards are necessary for this function. Apart from this, it has a 2 and 4 mode filter.

Oberheim OB-8: This model is to some extent similar to the OBXA. But this particular model offers something more. It has a 2 and 4 pole low pass filter, which is switch able. It has got 8 voices. The number of VCOs in this model is 2. They are sync able. The memory part of this model is very important. It has a 120 patch split able memory.

Oberheim OB-1: This is one of the masterpieces of Oberheim synthesizers. It is a dream machine. The pulse and the triangular can be set in symmetry. PWM is available in this machine. Its VCOs are sync able. It also consists of 8 memories, filter, which has a slope of 12 and 24 db/oct.

These are the famous models of Oberheim synthesizers. But these are not all. It has lot many other varieties of models. Models, which also are good, effective and can help people learn the instrument and also create a keen interest among them about synthesizers.
