Unsigned Guitarists Battle for the Guitar Star Title

Posted: Jun 29, 2009 | Comments: 0 | Views: 54 | Bookmark and Share

Make A Star gives talented guitar players the chance to let their music emerge onto the worldwide Internet stage through the Guitar Star contest, and awards a $150 cash prize to the winning guitarist.

The guitar is a lovely instrument with a history that goes far beyond the current rock and roll era. Long before the Rickenbacker, the Les Paul and the Fender Esquire helped shape the sound of the century, the guitar has been charming the ears of humanity for thousands of years.

With so many styles of guitars and methods of playing, each guitarist brings a personal touch and style to this contest, and allowing the guitar’s sound to be heard solo, without any drums, bass or vocals, gives the guitarists a full voice. The MakeAStar.com music fans and panel of music industry judges, which includes Zen Vendetta guitarist Ben Sairin, will have a tough time comparing the many varied styles and sounds, but the staff are confident that the three week long bracketed tournament will produce the deserving champion from the nine finalists.

Take a look and listen to each of the nine finalists’ performances:

Of course, we did not have fancy names for it, we just took all the best songs from different albums recorded them together on a tape and there it was, a mixed tape. Mixed tapes were wonderful gifts for pals, a special girl or guy and we all loved them. Driving in my auto, mixed tape grating, I knew I had chums who liked me enough to share their ...
