As a spiritual-futurist, I interpret current events in light of possible macro-universal forces at play leading up to 2012, but not limited to it.
I see God, the creator of the universe, the final authority of the trinity, and the life wherein I move and have my being as "Father-Consciousness". God for me must be both personal and impersonal. Can you hold the tension, the parado? It's not easy at first, but give it a honest shot. The Jesus consciousness attained Father Consciousness. Let me explain.
We all come into the world with an unawakened consciousness. We don't know that we don't know. We're just trying to figure out how this hand-eye coordination thing works. How do I get food into my mouth, what's the world doing out there that I'm not be need to? How's this mama-papa thing supposed to work, etc.
And then one day we acquire an awakened consciousness! There are many ways that I can describe this event. One day we come to the realization that there's more to life than meets the eye. There must be a designer behind the grand design of the earth and universe. There's something bigger than me and us, and what we SEE. Much of Christianity has a name for this awakened consciousness. They call it being SAVED or BORN AGAIN. :-)
Unless our awakend consciousness arrived still born, we then begin to GROW into what I call conditioned consciousness. There are many, many levels here: dozens, maybe hundreds? Let me use the religion paradigm to elaborate. If I get saved in Dallas Texas the chances are that I will be "conditioned by Baptist man". If I get saved in Rome, I might be "conditioned by Catholic man". If saved in England, I might be "conditioned by Anglican man". Need I go on? :-)
My conditioned consciousness is a product of where I live, have lived, the religious glasses I wear, and the truly spiritual experiences I have had.
But alas, the goal is to rise to Father-Consciousness which I call Unconditoned consciousness. God was not affected by anything- He just WAS and still IS! and it should be the goal and purpose of every human to get as close to unconditioned consciousness as possible which means we have to wash out a LOT (can you say ALL) of our conditioned consciouness training, bias, and prejudices.
Jesus did!
He and the Father became ONE and John (chapter 17) tells us that Jesus said we could too! We could make that journey from unawakend consciousness, to awakened consciousness, to conditioned consciousness, and then to unconditioned consciousness (or get darn close as people like St. Francis of Assisi did). But you know what? You can't fly with the eagles (higher level conditioned consciouness people) if you're running with turkeys at night (the barely awakened conscious people).
