Fire Walking

We can be in denial by a lot of things, but there are certain objective and real events that no amount of "excuse-making" can disavow. Firewalking, the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot embers or stones is one such example. Many cultures have used it as a test or proof of faith.

Three years ago, Amanda Dennison of Alberta, Canada set a new Guinness world record for the longest documented fire walk in history. This mild-mannered woman simply walked slowly over 220 feet of hot embers which were recorded at 1,700 degress Fahrenheit- without a burn or injury.

How do you do that?

My definition of the supernatural is the the natural not yet understood by our homo sapien sapien minds. What can allow a 110 pound woman to lift a 3,000 pound vehicle off of an injured friend, while she's injured as well? How do we write off these miracles?

More importantly, why aren't we seeing more of them today?

Why do we live in disbelief, not affirming the pronouncements of Jesus, Buddha, and other great healers and workers of miracles? Why do we not believe the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas that says we can do ALL THINGS, which is translated into the word.

The only thing that's not real is this every day world that we call real.ALL!   :-)

What the ancients called the "shadow of reality" is the illusion of what we think we see, interpret and believe today. As we move towards 2012, we're going to have to rely more upon the REAL, that's not yet seen, in order to survive what's been too easily survivable- up til NOW! Fire walking is just one of the many affirmations that there's a world that's much more real than the one we think is.
