Remove the Veil

The world is literally (pun intended) built on metaphors (allegories, similes, parables, and other figures of speech). Metaphors go beyond facts into truth and carry an IMAGE that's powerful! One such image is the parting or tearing of the veil as found in Matthew 27:51 for one. Was there such a physical act? I doubt it, but I'm fine if that's your take, but taking it metaphorically carries a far greater impact, and believability for someone seeking spiritual truths.

The next two verses that follow fifty-one gives me a clue as to it's metaphorical truth as it sounds more like something from Michael Jackson's Thriller album. I mean can you see people crawling out of the grave, walking into town and doing what: having a long thirsty drink or maybe something to eat? How's that work anyway- literally?

When I questioned this as a young adult, I was told that God could do anything. Okay, I agree with that; however, isn't that a non answer that's basically saying "who knows"?

We need to remove the veil of religiosity!

We believe in the external world because we've not been trained to look beyond it into the spiritual realm where what you see is really, really REAL (II Cor. 4:18). We need to penetrate the veil that separates us from the spirit realm. That's what the message is in the tearing of the veil. Or as Joseph Chilton Pearce put it, "The Crack In The Cosmic Egg". We've got to break out of our religious, denominational boxes that we've built!

Revising the Southwest Airlines motto a little, "You are now free to move about the spirit world".

Ready?   :-)

The idea that we are to look beyond the physical and into the spiritual couldn’t be more true. In fact, the entire Bible is comprised of letters written in a spiritual language. When you keep in mind that God is a Spirit and he is speaking to the spirit of man, it only makes sense that He is speaking spiritually. Jesus told the woman at the well that she would no longer worship as her fathers who went to the mountains and built their temples or as the Jews who went to the Temple in Jerusalem. He said that she would now worship in spirit and in truth because God is a Spirit and must be worshipped in Spirit and in truth. The tearing of the veil showed that the Holiest of Holies was now made available to anyone who was in Christ, which was the New High Priest of a spiritual priesthood made after the order of Melchizedec. This was a different priesthood than that of Aaron, which was a priesthood of physical sacrifices and ordinances. We are free from the flesh and we now worship and walk spiritually. We have a new priesthood and a new Priest, which is Jesus and with a change of priesthood came a change of law. We now serve a under the law of love and not the law to the flesh. In other words, we are able to go beyond the veil. As with all of the things in the Temple, the veil was a physical object that represented a spiritual thing in the kingdom of God. The veil represented the division that was between God and man because of sin. It was the removing of the law that allowed the spirit of man to serve and while the flesh will one day pass away, the spirit and soul of man can live because the veil has been removed between us and God. In short, we not only look beyond the veil into a spiritual place, we worship beyond the veil.

The Bible says publicly that Jacob overpowered the Lord God in Wrestling. What if God Wrestled Esau instead of Jacob? Esau was stronger than Jacob. In the Noble Quran, Allah does not wrestle, if He wants to do anything, He just says: Be and it is.
