I’m 18- I don’t need to do a will yet!
I can’t afford to get a will drawn up.
I haven’t got any children- who do I leave my possessions to?
Lots of excuses can be offered as a reason for not making a will; just three are listed above. But really, there is no excuse. As unpleasant as it is to think about, forward planning for the event of your death is the best thing you can do, and this is where solicitors Leicester can step in to help.
Why Should I Have a Will?
In basic terms, a will can ensure that your possessions and estate will be divided up according to your requirements.
If you have died without making a will, you are said to have died ‘intestate’. This means that the people you would like to leave your estate to may get little or nothing; it is up to the court to decide.
What About Children?
If you have children, you can appoint a guardian to them in your will. Likewise, if you do not wish to appoint a guardian then your will should reflect this, along with detailed reasons for both why and why not.
However, when it comes to witnesses signing the will, one of these witnesses cannot be the proposed guardian; this creates a conflict of interest and the will can then be contested.
If you have any questions regarding the drafting of your will, then a solicitor will be only too happy to answer them. The vast majority of solicitors in Leicester offer wills and probate services and can give detailed instruction on what you should do.

Can decriminalising be equated to legalising ?
By: R.S. Praveen Raj | 03/07/2009The spirit of the judgement is commendable. The decision is very clear - - -”It will be the denial of social justice and violation of fundamental rights if gays and lesbians are punished for consensual sexual acts committed in private owing to carnal desires, just citing a reason that they have a sexual orientation different from the majority and hence such act amounts to crime”
Section 377 IPC and gay rights
By: R.S. Praveen Raj | 01/07/2009I also agree to the demonstrators that it is time to end the social stigma to the LGBT. However I’m confused with the meaning and spirit of Section 377 IPC and its direct relation to gay rights. While it is necessary to stop viewing gays and lesbians as criminals, repeal of 377 IPC will have serious consequences.

By: Sarah Wilson | 29/06/2009It may seem like all countries have laws and regulations that make a divorce into as difficult and frustrating a process as possibly, but that’s not true. Take Control of Your Divorce with an International Marriage
By: Sarah Wilson | 29/06/2009When you file for a divorce through local means, you basically turn everything over to the court system. Even if you and your spouse are able to agree on everything and put it into writing, there’s a good chance that the judge will make changes to what you both have agreed upon. Unfortunately, that’s something that they’re able to do.

We also know that because of its popularity, the majority of homes have opted for solid oak floors, perhaps as much for the aesthetic qualities as for the great properties of it.
