Parliament may examine shortcomings.
Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.

It is an accepted fact that India is a rich country because all the basics are available in this country and had those basics been properly been identified and exploited, this country would have turned a rich country and then we could have registered our name in the list of rich and advanced countries. But we are not having our place in the advanced countries and we are still legging behind. We are a backward country because most of our people are still illiterate, still unemployed, still living in mud houses, living in huts, are begging, are wearing rags, are ill and are not having proper treatment, are no in a position to send their wards to schools, are not in a position to get training for their children, are paying bribe, are indulging in crimes, sins and misconducts, most of them are drug addicts, opium eaters, drunkards or the like and if such conditions continue, we would not be able to say that we shall be entering in the list of advanced countries by 2020 A.D.
All these problems had been there when we were under the rajas, maharajas, monarchs and then under the imperialists and all these problems are still there in spite of the fact that we had been struggling for centuries and ultimately we gained our independence in the year 1947 and then we framed our constitution and we declared ourselves as a democracy in the year 1950. But there had been something wrong when the British were handing over the charge to the local people. They gave charge to their own people and that is the reason the new people, though they were local and Indians, they started functioning on the same laws and in the same way and therefore, they also adopted the principle of 'divide and rule' and that is the reason this country has been divided into Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and the Dalits and it is on record that the Sikhs had a Khalistan movement and the Muslims are still demanding their rights and they are asking for reservations for them and a neighboring country is sending terrorists and they are getting all local help and with this local help they are operating upon in all parts of India. The Dalits are not happy because they had been Hindus throughout, but the Hindus could not allow them to merge in Hinduism till todate.. Under these circumstances, the people of India are divided and the present sent of politicians are enjoying life anything and they are ruling like rajas, maharajas, monarchs and the imperialists and that is the reason the problems of the people which were available with them prior to this independence and prior to this democracy are still alive and the people of Indian are just voters and nothing more and they are living life of slaves because the wealth they create is snatched away from them and does not come back and utilized for the welfare of the people of India.
The people of India are not happy with all these problems and therefore, it is the duty of the Parliament of India to take up this matter in the house and they should have an introspection and come out with reasons as to why all the problems of the people which were available prior to independence and prior to democracy are still there and they should come out with solutions and they must operate upon those solutions. This wastage of six decades is not tolerable. India is a rich country and therefore, the people should also be rich and prosper and only a few should not be allowed to swallow the whole wealth. There should be some process through which all must get due share. The poor is helpless and there is no one who can help him out. Therefore, the Parliament which claims to be the representative of the people must come forward and solve all these problems of the people of India. No further delay is tolerable.
