The Bible and Quran tell us about some famous Historical Rains.

The Lord sent These famous historical rains to the unbelievers and to the people who denied His messengers.

The most famous people were those who denied Noah, Lot and Moses (Pharaoh and the Egyptians).

In addition, the Quran mentions the rain sent to the people who denied Hud. Hud is not found in the Bible.

The Famous Historical Rains in the Bible:

Noah and his people:

Genesis 7:4

Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."

Genesis 7:12

And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

Genesis 8:2

Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky.

Genesis 9:13

I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

Genesis 9:14

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,

Genesis 9:16

Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.

Lot and his people:

The Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah.

Herein, there is a prophecy saying that:

"no one will live there; no man will dwell in it"

This prophecy never happened.

Genesis 19:24

Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens.

Genesis 19:28

He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.

Jeremiah 49:18

As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, along with their neighboring towns," says the LORD, "so no one will live there; no man will dwell in it.

Jeremiah 50:40

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah along with their neighboring towns," declares the LORD, "so no one will live there; no man will dwell in it.

Egypt

Exodus 9:23

When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the LORD sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt;

Exodus 9:33

Then Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He spread out his hands toward the LORD; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no longer poured down on the land.

Exodus 9:34

When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he sinned again: He and his officials hardened their hearts.

Exodus 16:4

Then the LORD said to Moses, "I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.

The Famous Historical Rains in the Quran:

Noah and his people:

The Quran states that the People of Noah were punished by the "Flood".

The flood formed as a result of severe rain and gushing forth springs i.e., water was coming from upside and downside, both water met at a determined extent.

Also, the Quran never mentions the rainbow.

Surah 29:14

SHAKIR: and certainly we sent Noah to his people, so he remained among them a thousand years save fifty years. and the deluge overtook them, while they were unjust

PICKTHAL: and verily we sent Noah (as our messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrong-doers.

YUSUFALI: we (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin.

Surah 54:10

SHAKIR: so we opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring

PICKTHAL: then opened we the gates of heaven with pouring water

YUSUFALI: so we opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth.

Surah 54:11

SHAKIR: and we made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained

PICKTHAL: and caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose.

YUSUFALI: and we caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed.

The exact translation of the verse 54:11 is:

"We exploded (blew up or burst) the earth to gush forth with many springs"

This verse preceded the sciences and predicts a way to explore what is inside the interior of the earth. When man followed this verse and exploded the earth, he would be able to find out gold, silver, metals, gazes, Oil, water etc.

Hud and Ad:

Hud Came after Noah.

Hud is a Prophet send to a people called "Ad".

Ad denied and rejected Hud.

Allah banned the rain for them.

They had great drought for a long time.

Then, see what happened:

Surah 46:24

SHAKIR: so when they saw it as a cloud appearing in the sky advancing towards their valleys, they said: this is a cloud which will give us rain. nay! it is what you sought to hasten on, a blast of wind in which is a painful punishment,

PICKTHAL: then, when they beheld it as a dense cloud coming toward their valleys, they said: here is a cloud bringing us rain. nay, but it is that which ye did seek to hasten, a wind wherein is painful torment,

YUSUFALI: then, when they saw the (penalty in the shape of) a cloud traversing the sky, coming to meet their valleys, they said, "this cloud will give us rain!" "nay, it is the (calamity) ye were asking to be hastened!- a wind wherein is a grievous penalty!

Neither Hud nor Ad is mentioned in the Bible.

Lot and his people:

The Quran does not say that the rain was burning sulfur.

The Quran (unlike the Bible) does not prophecies that the land of the people of Lot will motionless, dead lifeless and no one will dwell in it.

The Quran states that the land of Lot's people was turned upside down; this is not mentioned in the Bible.

Surah 7:84

SHAKIR: and we rained upon them a rain; consider then what was the end of the guilty

PICKTHAL: and we rained a rain upon them. see now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers!

YUSUFALI: and we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime!

Surah 11:82

SHAKIR: so when our decree came to pass, we turned them upside down and rained down upon them stones, of what had been decreed, one after another

PICKTHAL: so when our commandment came to pass we overthrew (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another,

YUSUFALI: when our decree issued, we turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer,-

Surah 15:74

SHAKIR: thus did we turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed

PICKTHAL: and we utterly confounded them, and we rained upon them stones of heated clay.

YUSUFALI: and we turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay.

Surah 25:40

SHAKIR: and certainly they have (often) passed by the town on which was rained an evil rain; did they not then see it? nay! they did not hope to be raised again

PICKTHAL: and indeed they have passed by the township whereon was rained the fatal rain. can it be that they have not seen it? nay, but they hope for no resurrection.

YUSUFALI: and the (unbelievers) must indeed have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of evil: did they not then see it (with their own eyes)? but they fear not the resurrection.

Surah 26:173

SHAKIR: and we rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned

PICKTHAL: and we rained on them a rain. and dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.

YUSUFALI: we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!

Surah 27:58

SHAKIR: and we rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned

PICKTHAL: and we rained a rain upon them. dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.

YUSUFALI: and we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!

Pharaoh and Egypt:

Unlike the Bible, the Quran does not say that the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt but it says that Allah sent flood against Egypt.

Before the High-Dam that is built in the 1960(s), Egypt was subjected to flood every year.

Surah 7:133

SHAKIR: therefore we sent upon them widespread death, and the locusts and the lice and the frog and the blood, clear signs; but they behaved haughtily and they were a guilty people

PICKTHAL: so we sent against them the flood and the locusts and the vermin and the frogs and the blood - a succession of clear signs. but they were arrogant and became a guilty folk.

YUSUFALI: so we sent (plagues) on them: wholesale death, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood: signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance, - a people given to sin.

According to the Bible, Aaron (Moses' brother) was and idolater. He made the Golden Calf, built an altar for it and announced to worship it. According to the Noble Quran, Aaron was a prophet. It is not Aaron, who made the Golden Calf, but it is the Samaritan which made the Golden Calf and he announced to worship it and the Israelites followed him save Aaron. Who are the Lord' People in Bible Versus Quran, [2] – Egypt?
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 07/05/2008 | Religion
The Bible, the Lord says in Isaiah 19:25: "Blessed is Egypt My people" Again, a verse like that may encourage the racial discrimination. On the other hand, the Quran does not favor any nation over the other and also does not favor any people over the other; it says clearly that the noblest of you in the sight of God is the most God-fearing among you.

Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences, (30) the Clouds
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 28/03/2007 | Religion
The guidelines in respect to the topic of the Clouds in the Bible: The rainbow in the clouds is the sign of the covenant between the Lord and the earth, The Lord came down in the cloud is in a pillar of clouds, and appearing in the cloud, The Lord veil and cover are made of clouds, The Lord chariot is made of clouds, The clouds are the dust of Lord's feet. When the Lord snuff you out the sun will be covered with a cloud, There is fire in the cloud of the Lord by night, the cloud filled the temple of the LORD, The clouds rise from the ends of the earth. On the other hand, the guidelines in respect to the topic of the Clouds in the Quran are: Many Scientific tips in one verse that are not found in the entire Bible, The correlation that are present between clouds, rain, and the dead land and the revival of dead people, The Wind fertilize the clouds, The Unbelievers thinking is like many layers of darkness over each other, The Scientific relation between clouds, hail and lightning

Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences, (44) Does the Lord Repent?
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 13/04/2007 | Religion
The Bible says the Lord commands the Israelites to Repent from all their transgressions. However, the Bible says that they did not repent. Instead of them, the Lord himself was the one who always repents. Moses said to the Lord: repent and do not bring disaster on your people, Then the LORD repented. David said to the Lord: Repent, Have compassion on your servants, Then the LORD repented. Joel and Jonah said to the Lord: repent of the evil, and God repented of the evil. The Lord sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it, Then He repented. Also, the Lord said: If the people repent and obey, I will repent. However, it seems likely that the Lord usually repented. Nevertheless, the Lord asks: Should I repent? But, What if the Lord does not repent? He will bend and string his bow and struck down nations in fury subdued with aggression. The nations should be careful because the Lord have decided and will not repent. Nonetheless, the Bible says that God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent On the other hand, the Quran declares that Allah cannot be questioned for His acts, but they will be questioned (for theirs); and He never ever repents. It is the man who will be asked about his acts. Also, the Quran gives three examples of the most famous Historical Repents and they are 1) Adam's son, 2) People after Noah and 3) Thamud people. Also, the Quran says that the Hypocrites will certainly repent in the Afterlife. And, the Quran gives an advice to the Believers in order not to repent.

What Do the Bible and Quran Say About the Meeting of Two Seas?
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 21/06/2007 | Nature
The Meeting of Two Seas is mentioned once in the Bible and four times in the Quran. This is one of the rare examples of an issue that is mentioned in the Quran more frequently in comparison to the Bible. According to the Bible, where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmovable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. On the other hand, the Quran preceded the Oceanography and mentioned that there is a barrier at the Junction between two seas that meet and that they do not transgress. Also, the Quran talks about the divider between fresh and salt water, it mentions the existence of "a forbidding partition" with the barrier. In addition, the Quran says that there are two types of Pearls, the Freshwater and Saltwater Pearls Historically, the Quran cites that Moses went to the junction where the two seas meet in order to see the blessed knowledgeable. Moses wanted to learn from him. This event is not mentioned in the Bible.
