Network Marketing Scams--truth or Dare?
I don't want to get into bashing those who are anti-network marketing, I just want to bring to light a few interesting facts. I agree with the common belief that scams and illegal pyramids schemes do in-fact exist, but I would also like to point out that not all network marking companies were started by the Devil :) The University of Illinois actually teaches a course on network marketing as an alternative business solution. The interesting thing that I think network marketers could learn from this fact is that the university has their students actually write a business plan for the MLM, they then address effective marketing practices in the industry. I say that network marketers could learn from this because most new reps treat their new business like a hobby. IT IS NOT A HOBBY! You will have business expenses like those is a traditional business: advertising, etc. Plan for them. Teach your downline to plan for these expenses as well. Back to the "SCAM" issue. My point to this is that a mainline university would not be teaching its students how to operate a network marketing business if they are all illegal. One such reputable company is Fortune High Tech Marketing. They have a AAA1 Dun and Bradstreet rating (one of the highest ratings in business)...scams don't get D&B ratings. Also, FHTM markets for well known companies like ATT, Verizon, Alltel, Sprint, Dish Network etc... These companies would not risk their reputations, by having a network marketing company like FHTM market their products if FHTM wasn't legit. Above all be honest...the industry needs it. Tell your prospects like it is (you get what your worth). Teach your downline the truth (you can be rich beyond your wildest dreams if you stay consistent and work your but off, but you'll remain dirt broke if you think that someone else is going to build your business for you).
