Multi-level marketing gives you the great benefit of controlling your own time and your profits. If you think though that MLM is a piece of cake, think again. Not everyone succeeds at MLM. Be Convinced About a Product
There are people who are so good at marketing that they can sway anyone. You may not have this skill yet though so the next best thing is to sound as convincing as possible when you talk about your product. The only way to do that is to actually be a product user yourself. Before you can sell effectively, you need to be swayed yourself into believing that your product is everything you say it is. Your first priority should thus be to find a product or brand that you are crazy over.
Check Legitimacy
You shouldn't just focus on a brand's appeal to you. You also have to make sure that an MLM scheme is legitimate. It goes without saying that a major key to your success is a legitimate marketing program. In this day and age, we all know that nearly everything can be faked. Sadly, that includes MLM schemes. If you aren't careful you could get caught up in a pyramiding scheme.
Control Your Beliefs and Attitude
The success of your homebased MLM business depends a lot on you. Although your upline and downlines can help you, it is really your attitude to the task of marketing that matters the most. A lot of people fail even before they can begin because they have preconceived notions about their ability to market and sell. From the very beginning, you need to be positive about your capacity to succeed. You also need to constantly push yourself to become self-motivated and determined. Don't give up while you are still on the starting line.
Learn Continuously
There are marketers who take MLM so seriously that they enroll in marketing classes. You can do the same thing too. Formal school however may not be an option for you right now. If this is the case, then you can learn more about MLM techniques and strategies on your own. You could develop a voracious appetite for reading marketing-related materials. You can also get into round table discussions with successful marketers and ask them questions about marketing strategies. Most importantly, you can learn to market successfully by learning from your mistakes.
Create Downline Bridges
You can't succeed at MLM without robust downlines. They are the heart of your homebased business. You can quickly find downlines by getting in touch with every person you have ever known in your life. You can also find subtle opportunities when you attend functions or have conversations with people you have just met. It is more crucial though that you know how to keep your downlines active.
What is more important though is what you do when you already have downlines. You have to make sure that they share your motivation and goals. One way to ensure that is by making sure you have a strong relationship with your downlines. Keep in touch with them and meet with them whenever you can.
A homebased MLM business really is a great path to financial success. Follow these steps and you could be on your way to success.

I know of IRC software support rooms and http://qunu.com but I am looking for something more advanced, for instance a database where you can tag yor question (without writing it, tags alone), leave your IM details, take advantage of a tag-matching system like here on Yedda and wait to be contacted on your personal IM client.
