I am a writer that loves talking about football. I have a soccer news sites which is concentrated on the English Premier League team, Arsenal FC: http://justarsenal.com And i have a Website Reviewing site called http://justwebsitereviews.com I hope you like my writing! Pat
With the (long, long) international break upon us, I have been searching around the web for interesting things to discuss, and I just found the perfect tool that can inter-connect my blog with every like-minded blog in the world!
It is nearly brand new, and is in the Alpha stage of development, but this new system, called Smallrivers, is fantastic. It is a simple concept which is to act as a tool for bloggers to interconnect with like-minded bloggers across the globe. I would consider this to be even bigger than Twitter or Facebook one day, because it is so simple to use and enables us to share our posts easily.
It has already been snapped up by Green sites like the WWF, and is guaranteed to take off and spread around the internet like a virus because it is so simple, but boundless!
In our case we want to find out what other blogs are saying about Arsenal, and it is extremely simple to implement. I have created a ‘river’ called ‘Arsenal Blogs’, which I have added as a small widget to my sidebar. It looks like this:
From that simple bit of script, any other Arsenal site in the world can copy it, put it on their website, and we are immediately connected!
Can you imagine, if EVERY single Arsenal website in the world added that simple bit of script, we would all be connected. Any visitor from any other site could have a look at what you have been talking about, and then click over to you, and so on around the world. For Bloggers, it means that their thoughts can be seen by more and more people every day, and the more sites that connect to it, the bigger it grows.
As you can see from the small widget above, as more sites pick up on the “Arsenal News” widget, it will increase the number in the box, so you can see that the WWF have already got 84 websites connected to them.
Surely we can get hundreds of Arsenal sites to interconnect?
Once the button is installed on your site, anyone who clicks on it, will then see ALL the posts from all the interconnected sites as a sort of news feed, like this picture below from the WWF site.

So I am CALLING ALL ARSENAL BLOGGERS! Copy this widget onto your site, and pass it on to any other Arsenal bloggers you know, and lets all get connected with SmallRivers.
Here is the ‘Arsenal Blogs’ connect button code:

Or go to the SMALLRIVERS site to get your code.
