Finally after two years of inprisonment former Atlanta Falcons quarter back, Michael Vicks, has been released from Virginia State prison. The young quarter back was convicted of barbarous treatment as he held a dog fighting company at his 15 acre rural farm in Virginia.

Michael Vick's dogfighting company was first uncovered after a police raid on his rural farm in Virgina two years ago in mid 2007. The police found 66 live dogs as well as 8 dead bodies of dogs which had been buried on site aswell as a fighting arena. The company Michael Vicks ran with several of his childhood friends was called "Bad Newz Kennels".
Dogfighting is a vicious sport which encompasses putting 2 dogs in an arena and ordering them to fight each other generally to death. It is estimated that over 100,000 street fighters and 40,000 professionals engage in this bloodsport. Virginia has been known for dog fighting with several dog fighting operations being uncovered in the state.
However Michael claims that back in Virginia where he grew up he witnessed dog fighting from as young as the age of 8. Police simply past by and left the vicious dogs to fight giving Michal the signal that perhaps the sport wasn't as bad as it seemed.
Vick is now the face of a humane rights dogfighting campaign, the same campaign that provided evidence for his conviction, as they believe his status will be able to speak out to some of the younger kids who may end up following the same unfortunate path as Michael.
