Subjective notion of happiness has been studied in many disciplines over centuries. People spend all the life searching for happiness and peace. Rosaura is a victim of a society who has got into a dehumanizing situation because of her social position. She cannot be happy under no circumstances with people who surround her. Thus, according to the author happiness is in a higher social position of a person. People of equal status communicate with each other as equal, thus, they can find happiness in it. Even in a dehumanizing situation a person can find happiness, like Rosaura does.
