The bar has been around for nearly two decades and is certainly a veteran as far as Soho bars go.

Furthermore, the ‘out and proud’ gay atmosphere that is thriving in London at the minute is marked with the annual Pride Festival, held in June, with a showcase of around 300 exhibitions, film screenings, sporting events, concerts, theatre, comedy and cabaret performances. Perhaps a positive boost for the gay scene in London, Colm Howard Lloyd, a director of Pride London, has called for greater encouragement from travel companies, for gay customers who may be looking to travel to the UK for the famous festival.  This is definitely an indication that the gay community in general, is expanding, as London becomes the place to be for all that is camp. He has claimed that ‘travel agents and tour operators should show their support, rather than simply exploiting the pink pound’. Howard Lloyd also goes on to say ‘We know how valuable the pink pound is and we are really cynical about anyone taking advantage of it, furthermore that’s why the organizations that actively work with the gay community in general are the ones we trust’.

The clear expansion of the gay community as a whole has reached global heights, although the gay community in London is certain one of the most tight- knit.

Discrimination against the gay community

Despite a number of historic advancements in terms of the expansion of the gay community and the dispersal of a lot of discriminative feeling, a young Lesbian, online gamer has suffered at the hands of ignorance.
