Once I heard weird story. A man was playing some web MMRPG game. Most of these games prohibit multiplayer and you know why :) Game site checks this by setting cookie to browser and when you logout and login with another character it tracks this.
What was the solution ? Most simple one, he installed all versions of browser he found on the Internet(IE,FF,Chrome,Safari, etc). That was weird, but it worked.
Or may you want to stay signed at two Gmail accounts at once ? Or you develop multi user access program and what to test it as several users at once ?
I want to tell about much simpler way of doing this based on Mozilla Firefox profiles.
By default when you start Mozilla Firefox for the fist time it created "Default" profile. What is profile ? Profile is directory where Mozilla Firefox stores all your settings, cookies, bookmarks, history, add-ons, etc....
Every time you start browser it loads its "Default" profile by default. Even if you start Mozilla Firefox again it attaches to the same "Default" profile.
And here is how to do a trick. It is possible to create multiple profiles and launch multiple Mozilla Firefox instances, which will be absolutely independent from each other.
To do it, create new shortcut on desktop with program path:
"C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe" -no-remote -ProfileManager
Name this shortcut "Firefox Profile" and launch.
In new window choose "Create Profile", follow simple wizard, it is done only once. After profile is created choose it from list and Start Firefox.
That is very simple.
You can install different themes in different profiles to distinguish one from another.
