What you consume can have an impact on your health. Hence if what you eat is largely junk food, then it is reasonable to expect that your body will not be performing optimally. What cause most harm to your body are heavy metals. The presence of heavy metals can cause you energy leakage, low mental clarity and reduces your brain activity and function.

Heavy metals are industrial byproducts but traces can easily be found in drinking water, pesticides that you breathe in or even through dental braces or dental fillings. Scrap dental amalgam was declared a dangerous compound by the Environmental Protection Agency in 1989.

Usually, your body has a natural way of detoxifying on its own, even with harmful metals. Impurities are eliminated from your body through the release of feces and urine. In addition, small amounts of heavy metals may also be released into the air through your lungs. The liver can also help in heavy metal detox. It actually excretes metal in the bile and reabsorbs them. The kidney also performs a process that disposes the heavy metals that your body absorbs. Kidneys produce metallothionein, which neutralizes the mercury in your body. Problems occur when there is a toxic build up of heavy metals and other waste, causing the organs to perform sub optimally.

Heavy metal detox helps to eliminate heavy metals like mercury, lead and cadmium. These metals in your body destroys vital enzymes, cell receptors and hormones. Lead is also found to restrain brain nerves. Thus, the presence of lead can have a negative impact on brain development, especially in young children. It is the same with mercury.

For heavy metal detox, you will need the advice and guidance of an alternative health expert. The concern is that if this process is not carried out properly, it can result in renal failure. You will also experience symptoms of chemical poisoning.
