Those of us who train at the gym are constantly looking for ways to improve the results we get from our hard training. Putting in the hard yards at the gym doesn't necessarily guarantee physical results. A hardened physique is the result of the mastery of the trio of training eating/supplementation and resting. This article will focus on the eating and particularly the supplementation aspect of gaining lean mass.

There are many ways to take bodybuilding supplements and even more actual supplements to take. A term that has recently been coined in the bodybuilding world is supplement 'stacking'. Supplement stacking refers to the use of a combination of supplements together with one another to achieve an amplified benefit. The kind that muscle gainers are ever in search of.

To ensure that I preach the right message it must be known that some companies have begun promoting stacking as a way to sell more product as it encourages the use of more supplements. However there are actually guys using supplement stacking in its own right based on their own research for gains outside that which is normally capable from singular supplementation.

Basically here is an idea of an appropriate supplement stack based on my own research.

An anabolic compound.

An anabolic compound puts your muscles in the optimal state (an anabolic state) for muscle growth and repair and prevents from the dreaded catabolism when muscle is burnt away for energy. Anabolic compounds assist muscular power to crank out those heavy lifts more times and allows you to get the most out of your workout.

Creatine/ Amino acids

Creatine has been shown in countless studies to improve athletic performance particularly in anaerobic exercise (such as weight training). It heightens the bodys ability to regulate energy production during exercise as well as improves the tendency of the body to recover faster after exercise. It will allow you even greater energy at the higher intensity ends of your training session while ensuring quicker return of your body to its peak state for lifting again.

Amino acids are compounds such as leucine or l-glutamine which can have many functions that generally revolve around supporting the body in metabolising and synthesizing to the muscles the anabolic and creatine supplements as mentioned above. In doing so they greatly improve recovery times and magnify the benefits already mentioned, hence making an important addition to a supplement stack.

Other additions to a supplement stack can be those that cater to another important aspect of gaining weight, hormone levels. Certain types of supplements can enhance the bodies levels of hormone such as HGH (human growth hormone) and testosterone physically increasing the bodies ability and potential to gain muscle.

An example of what I have found to be an effective supplement stack backed by scientific research plus confirmed by real life users of the supplement is one that has specifically been manufactured as a stack by Muscletech. The stack is Leukic (the first 100% natural anabolic compound), Creakic, a creatine supplement, with amino acids and Gakic, allowing the body to recover, whilst lessening muscle fatigue during workout.

If you are looking for superior results from your training, supplement stacking can really give you that extra edge.

I periodically have a burning, acidic sensation in my stomach, and when I burp, it feels like a small amount of stomach acid is coming up. I do not experience burning in my chest like heartburn. It can happen whether I am hungry or have just eaten, and I haven't noticed any foods that correlate with the burning. What could this be? Could this be serious enough to see a doctor?
