Arthritis is a devastatingly painful disease that affects millions of people. It affects the joints of the body and can make if difficult to complete even simple tasks. There are many prescription medications on the market that were created to help relieve the symptoms of the disease, but not everyone tolerates them well. There are natural medications that have been shown to help relieve the often excruciating symptoms of this disease, without the harmful side effects.

One such remedy is Aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is a form of treatment that uses the scent of plant oils to treat disease. It may sound odd to use a scent as a form of medications, but many people with arthritis have used it to gain relief. Various plant oils used for this purpose are derived from cloves, eucalyptus, cinnamon and thyme. The oil is rubbed on the affected area and helps to relieve pain.

Another natural medicine used in the treatment of arthritis is juice. The juice that is squeezed from vegetables and various fruits has been shown to treat the disease through nourishment of the body. Fruit and vegetables are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that fight disease and boost the immune system. Drinking the juice from these natural products is one of the best ways to get all of the benefits that they contain. A healthier body is better able to ward off disease and fight the ones that affect it.

One of the strongest, natural medications that have been shown to not only ease the pain of arthritis but to also reduce the swelling in the tissues that the disease causes is Green Lipped Mussel Extract. The Green Lipped Mussel is a shell fish that is indigenous to New Zealand. The extract that is made from it has been proven to be highly effective in treating arthritis, without the side effects of some of the prescription medications. It is reported that it also reduces much of the pain associated with arthritis and is one of the most potent forms of natural medication used to treat the disease.

There are also herbal medications that are used to treat arthritis. These include ginger, white willow bark, bromelain, tumeric, cayenne and devil's claw. A professional in the field of natural health, should be able to suggest the right ones for you to try.
The use of hypnotherapy to control pain is now being used as an alternative treatment to chemical pain relievers. This method works by using hypnosis to help to tolerate pain. A professional hypnotist can do it and there are also self hypnosis methods that have been shown to be successful.

Before stopping any prescription medications you may be taking, be sure to consult your physician.

The Modern Lily Tomlin

I’m waiting in a conference room that smells like the corner of career aspiration and stale office carpet. The overly heavy and overly bitter receptionist has a voice that is piercing through the makeshift conference room with walls that only go up about 7 feet. Like an annoying hiccup, she keeps repeating “Good morning, Hudson. Your name? Hold please.” Over and over again. She is an extra large version of what the rest of the world has automated already.
