Sick of looking at your acne covered face in the mirror? Feel helpless? Start fighting acne. Don't be a victim to your blemishes anymore. You've tried buying over the counter acne products like acne gels, acne scrubs, acne pads, and acne creams. Nothing worked. Don't you think it's time to leave the stores and start looking for different acne treatments?
I'd say so. Don't give up. Fighting acne has never been an easy battle. Many adults and teenagers are engaging in the same fight as you. Now it's time to get proactive. How are you going to fight acne? Start examining your daily habits and environment for clues.
If you're like most people, you reach for a caffeinated beverage in the morning. Stop! Clinical studies show that caffeine and acne have a correlation. What will you do to start fighting acne? Well, let us make a suggestion. Water. Plenty of water. Most people don't consciously think about their water intake. Water has been one of the best treatments since the beginning of time. Start fighting acne by drinking several glasses of water a day. It will flush impurities out of your system, making your skin look cleaner.
Washing your face with water several times a day is important too. But washing your face and drinking water aren't the only things to aid you in fighting acne, daily exfoliation is important too. Exfoliating your acne covered skin will remove dirt from trapped pores. You'll notice a difference in your skin. But keep up on it, don't let your water consumption, face washing, and exfoliating slide to the curb. Fighting acne has never been easier. It's up to you to start taking control of your skin. Avoid fried foods, fast foods, and anything greasy for one week. Opt for a glass of water when you're feeling thirsty.
All of these solutions are helpful to address overall levels of dirt, oils and bacteria on the skin. However, for most people, they are simply not enough. The real reason for this is the myth that acne is created on the skin by diet, by how much you wash, and hygiene. While clear skin does play a factor in acne, the real culprit for acne is DHT.
You see, your body converts testosterone to DHT, which causes the sebaceous (skin) glands to over produce oils. These oils ultimately trap oil, dirt and bacteria which lead to full blown acne. So while washing your face and watching your diet help acne in the short term, they do not address the real issue. You will need to find a treatment that offers anti DHT protection. Only then will you be able to prevent acne.
