There is hardly anything more embarrassing and frustrating than unsightly blemishes or acne on your face. Whether you are an adult or a teenager you have probably run into this problem before. What's even worse is that you may have tried all kinds of acne treatment options, without finding one that works for you.

Perhaps you have spent countless dollars on over the counter remedies that seemed to take more dollars from your wallet then pimples from your face. Maybe you have visited a dermatologist and aren't happy with the prescription medications that have been suggested. If the above description sounds like you, you might be interested in acne home treatments.

How Long Have Home Acne Treatments Been Around?

Home Acne Treatments have been around for a long time. Chances are your grandmother had a few remedies and home acne treatments in her collection of beauty secrets. Long before cosmetics were sold in stores, women found ways to accentuate their beauty with homemade makeup. Women also found ways to add fragrance to their hair and to treat different skin conditions such as dryness, wrinkles, and even acne.

If you have severe acne problems, most home acne treatments won't do you much good. However, if you have light acne, occasional breakouts or acne prone skin, learning some of the old secrets can be a big help in your fight for clear skin.

What People Used To Know About Home Acne Treatments

Before the invention of all kinds of chemicals and medicine, people had to find natural remedies to common problems, such as acne. Many of these natural resources are found right inside your home, in the kitchen.

Believe it or not, something as simple as oatmeal can be used as an acne reducing mask. If you are interested in trying a homemade acne mask, simply combine a half cup of quick cook oats with enough honey to make a pastel.

Apply this to your face and then allow it to dry for about fifteen minutes. Once it has dried, remove the mask with a wet wash cloth. As you remove it, gently rotate the cloth in tight circles over the surface of your face. This will allow the oatmeal to exfoliate your skin.

Mint Is a Natural Home Acne Treatment Remedy

Yes, mint has healing properties and dabbing a little mint oil on a blemish could help to reduce it quickly. Cider vinegar contains many cleansing properties and can be used as an astringent.

Simply dampen a cotton ball with a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar and wipe it over your face once or twice a day. When you use home acne treatments made from ingredients found in your kitchen, you can rest assured that only natural ingredients are touching your precious skin.

This is great for people with sensitive skin, as most chemicals in acne creams do nothing but add to the problem because they are filled with harmful chemicals that may have an adverse reaction with your skin. Try several creams and these natural remedies to find out what works best for you.
