To age gracefully does not mean that it is OK to neglect your skin and embrace the wrinkles before your time. Natural lines on the face can be a beautiful thing, telling a story of age and wisdom, but premature wrinkles are not the same. With some attention to your diet and lifestyle, you can improve skin tone and texture, naturally.

Beauty sleep No, it is not an old wives tale! A good night's sleep is vital for skin cell rejuvenation. Ensure that you remove make-up before going to bed, and apply a good moisturiser to clean skin. You should aim to wake with a plumped up well rested glow.

De-stress Ever wondered why they are called worry lines? De-stress by getting out of work and into the fresh air for regular breaks, walk in the country, get a relaxing facial. Also - pay attention that you are not carrying the worries of the day on your face ... stop now and again and see if you face is relaxed. Take time throughout the day to check that you are not tense in any areas such as the forehead. Open your mouth and eyes wide to give your facial muscles a stretch and rid tension.

Hydrate Simple, and true. To drink plenty water is vital for brilliant skin. Pure mineral and/or filtered water is best. The body is made of water and so should be hydrated constantly throughout the day. Just look at what happens to fruit when it looses moisture - it shrivles up and the skin wrinkles!

Eat well Make sure that your diet has plenty of antioxidents in it. Bright vegetables and dark berries are great for the skin. Avoid refined sugar and grains as they cause puffiness and pastiness - not a good look. Go for foods rich in Silicon - radishes and cucumber for example are great for the skin. Eat foods with high water content for clear skin. If you have trouble with oily skin or acne you should cut down on fatty foods.

Be gentle There are hundreds of creams on the market which promise to turn back the hands of time, but it is hard to see how a harsh chemical product could be more beneficial to the skin than a natural one packed with REAL vitamins, organic butters, vital nutrients etc. Do your skin a favour and use only the most natural substance on it.
