Old Colony Elderly Services “elves” Helped to Ensure a Happy Holiday for Those in Need

OCES provided 20 gifts of clothing to children through the Brockton Salvation Army. Home Instead Senior Care and Duval’s Pharmacy collected 375 gifts (three each) for 126 seniors served by OCES. The Marshfield Ladies Club provided 20 gift baskets to seniors in the area. OCES staff assisted with gift wrapping and distribution.

“By joining forces on the Holiday Gift Project, we were able to provide quite a few children and seniors with gifts they may not have otherwise received. We’d like to thank Philomena Hare of the Brockton Salvation Army, Cherie Sasso of Home Instead and Pat Carney of the Marshfield Ladies Club for their tremendous efforts and assistance,” said Diana L. DiGiorgi, Executive Director of OCES.

OCES serves the towns of Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, Brockton, Carver, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Easton, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Kingston, Lakeville, Marshfield, Middleboro, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Rockland, Stoughton, Wareham, West Bridgewater and Whitman.

Incorporated in 1974, Old Colony Elderly Services (OCES) is one of 27 private, non-profit Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The organization’s mission is to provide services which will support the dignity and independence of elders by helping them maximize their quality of life; live safely and in good health; and, prevent unnecessary or premature institutionalization.
