The Pinnacle Youth Outreach Mission is situated in Elsies River Cape Town a previously disadvantage community where drugs and other substances are freely available. Pinnacle Youth Outreach Mission is a community initiative that started two years ago. The goal of this organization is to help children that are addicted to substances to get help and turn from the lifestyles they had chosen to a better one. The organization also focuses on children that are not using substances to prevent them from going down the road of self distruction.
This organization aims to expose kids to positive things that they have never seen or experience so that they are aware that there is more to life than the selling and using of substances. By doing this we want to teach them that they can become whatever they put their minds too and not use their poverty and situations as an excuses to not be successful.
Pinnacle being a faith based organization it is important to teach these kids about Biblical morals and values. The organization started a variety of activities to get the teens and the kids of the street and to start investing their time in extra mural activities that teaches them discipline and self- respect. The activities are based on teaching them the technical aspects of their talents.
The program that they run from week to week is JAM (Jesus and Me), a dance group named Step- Up, one on one counseling for any problem, a drug support group and a feeding project called Five Loaves and Two Fish. The programs are all to benefit the teens and kids in their community so that they know people care for them.
