Acidic and Alkaline Foods - Know What Foods Are the Best For Your Diet

The modern society has brought us many varieties of food to choose from. We are aware, that as times went by, more and more innovations and inventions were made. It continues until now. Food is amongst the many things that improved. But, we should still consider the right choice of acidic and alkaline foods.

Maintaining a balanced pH condition of the body is a very important thing to consider. Our body must have an alkaline state in order for the cells to function well. An acidic environment does not help our body cells stay healthy.

Furthermore, the oxygen and nutrients that must be delivered throughout our body is enhanced by having alkaline body fluids. Accumulation of fats in the body is also caused by too much acidity. Cancer cells are being produced because of an acidic environment.

Alkalinity is a key to having a good health. If you maintain a basic alkaline condition your cells will get nourished. Nourished cells will give rise to healthy tissues. Healthy tissues will produce better organs. These organs are our heart, liver, lungs and others. Therefore, you will be free from any illnesses and will live healthier.

However, we must know specifically what acidic and alkaline foods are. This way, we will be able to have a better diet. Alkaline diet is the best bet to achieve a healthy, young and strong body. You will be able to know what foods you should take away from the list and what foods you should keep.

Acid foods are those foods that we know will not do good to our health. Among these are meats, dairy products, frizzy, eggs, and processed foods. Meats include beef, pork, lamb, turkey and chickens. Dairy products such as milk, eggs, cheese, cream and yogurt are acid foods.

Artificial sweeteners are also included in the acid food category. These are known to be harmful and make us prone to obesity and other diseases.

Alkaline foods are the ones that we know are good for us. These are generally fresh fruits and vegetables. However, there are few fruits and vegetables that are acidic. Alkaline fruits include avocado, mango, tomato, grapefruit, lemon, lime, watermelon, papaya, kiwi, apple and others. Vegetables under alkaline forming foods are lettuce, onion, cauliflower, spinach, turnips, chives, asparagus etc.

You must consider taking more of alkaline foods rather than acid foods. The ratio of alkaline to acid should be 4:1.
