Becoming Thinner Can be A Reality Once You Know How

Most individuals believe that calories are the enemy, since eating excess calories leads to excess blubber, right? That's the reason why the majority believes the fastest way to shed pounds and becoming thinner is to cut way back on calories each day. Of course , if a dieter is eating 2,500 calories per day and they decide to cut back to 1,500 calories per day then clearly those extra 1,000 calories have to end up in weight reduction, right?

Well, basically this is not exactly true. In fact, if you try to reduce your calories too much ( thru starving yourself and skipping meals ) then you will quickly reach a dieting plateau. This is a point where the scale won't drop any lower regardless of how little you eat.

If you are interested in becoming thinner, how do you start a new diet? If you are like most people, you begin skipping meals and cutting way back on calories in a scheme for becoming thinner by starving yourself, since you think that calories are the enemy. On the first day of dieting you are motivated to your goal of becoming thinner and decide not to eat anything for breakfast. Unfortunately, this motivation doesn't last for long, because after one or two hours, your hunger begins making you're feeling terrible. This is because your body isn't used to skipping meals, and your body isn't used to being without calories for so long.

Ultimately, hours later when dinner time arrives you feel so terrible and hungry that you have a serious pain in the neck. It is about this time that you eventually start to understand that starving yourself won't be such a good way of becoming thinner after all. After this first day of starving yourself you feel horrible, but you are determined to stick to your diet since becoming thinner really important to you. And, mostly, you'll probably hold out for another few days on this diet. Or, if you are truly inspired, you may be able to continue with this torture for a week or two.

However, regardless of how long you really stay on this type of diet, you won't get any slimmer using this kind of weight reduction method. And, like all the other diets that you've tried, you will fail.

You see, even after two weeks of starving yourself you will not have attained any significant weight reduction in any way. The explanation for the reason being because almost all of the weight lost during a low calorie diet is just water weight, and not real fat loss. Weight lost during a starvation diet will be gained back right away when you stop dieting and start eating routinely again. And unfortunately, your body will still look the same when you look in the mirror.

The reason for that is simple, when you go on a starvation diet, your body will begin burning fewer calories each day. For example, if you routinely eat about 3,000 calories per day, and cut back drastically to one thousand calories a day, your body will adjust to this new level. Although you are eating 2,000 fewer calories every day, your body will start burning 2,000 fewer calories each day. So your weight will stay the same even though you are eating 2,000 fewer calories each day.

Why else do you believe that shedding weight is so difficult? Why else do you believe that our society suffers from a major weight problem which is getting worse?

It is due to the fact the solution to weight loss is the complete opposite of what most folks think. Most average folks have been brought up to believe that eating "fat" is bad and that eating "fat free foods" is healthy.
