We are all troubled by certain problem areas, even those of us who are not overweight. If your have been trying to lose your belly fat for sometime, you might be disappointed. There are many product offerings on the market, from creams and applications to gadgets and machines that promises to get rid of that belly fat.
You really have to ask yourself, can you really lose just your belly fat? Sadly the answer is NO. Attempts to do so will not only fail, it is not healthy as well. While you can lose that belly fat, there is really no miracle cure here.
Why Can’t I Spot Reduce?
The market is largely mislead to believe the benefits that these so-called revolutionary products can provide when in actual fact the results are nothing revolutionary, if any at all.
1. You Are What You Eat
Diet is an important element to get rid of the undesirable body fats. The foods that you eat have calories and cholesterols that get stored in your body, probably manifesting as belly fats. Our diet is the main culprit for presence of fats.
Pinning all that false hopes on those gadgets in the market, while indulging yourself in fudge cakes, fried chicken and fast foods will only lead to utter disappointment.
2. Targeted Fat Loss is a Myth
It is not wise to believe what those people say about the miracle results of spot reduction. The products you see on the market require that you merely attach or apply them on the problem areas. What about your other body parts? What about the other requirements of the body?
In any fat loss endeavor, you must understand your body. You should be clear about what it takes to achieve your goal. For example, if you want that six-packs abs, you have to know what it takes to get them.
A lot of people are claiming that if you wan to lose your belly fat, you simply concentrate on abdominal exercises or use the gadgets targeted at your abdominals. Do be reminded again that you cannot spot reduce. You will not achieve your goals by simply doing that one abdominal exercise.
So what can you do to lose that belly fat? Before you even target those belly fats, you will have to reduce your overall body fats first. Doing 500 crunches will only exhaust you but will do nothing to get rid of your belly fats. You body simply do not burn just your belly fats. Complete workouts will have to be done to address this, fats are burn in sequence and not just in one area.
At this point, the only way you can only get rid of belly fats and get some body mass is to have a healthy diet and do cardio exercises.
Only after surpassing the diet and cardio requirements can you focus on the abdominal exercises. This is the only proper time to really focus on working out to lose that belly fat.
3. There Are No Shortcuts
Miracle diets, pills and potions are just shortcuts that will lead you to a dead end. If a losing your belly fat is your aim, you have to work for it. You have to earn it.
We are living in a fast changing world in terms of the advancement of technology, but our bodies are still very much natural. Thus you will still have to be grounded to what is naturally required by the body, healthy diet, regular exercise and time to develop that desirable state.
4. Health and Fitness Require Commitment
Your dedication to the health of your body is a lifelong commitment. Even if you achieved a great body now, it will not remain so forever if you abuse on your diet and lifestyle. It needs to be constantly loved and cared for.
That is why if you only depend on the spot reduction claims, it will really bring you nowhere. You can only hope, but you really cannot expect any favorable results. So if you aim to lose your belly fats; get an exercise program for yourself and make the necessary changes in your diet. Commit yourself to your own holistic development. Improve not only the body, but your outlook in life as well.
Do It the Proper Way.
With all these points raised, the conclusion is to simply get healthy the proper way. The saying still holds true. No pain, no gain. So do not be a victim of the misleading information and empty promises thrown upon you. You have to know the proper options. Take the matter into your own hands to start enjoying the benefits of a healthy body.

Mind over Body
By: Mike Bunata | 04/01/2010Everyday we are surrounded by the rich, the beautiful, and the thin. Cover girls inundate consumers at every turn. The problem is the image you see on the cover of the latest Glamour magazine has been twisted and tweaked, colored and edited, unflawed and thinned out. Seriously, have you ever seen a model with muffin top? Thin as seen on TV or at your local newsstand is an illusion. Getting and staying in shape is important for your well being, but not at the expense of your health.
Keeping Your Kids in Shape
By: Mike Bunata | 04/01/2010Twenty years ago children were forced outside. There were no video games or cable television. Wii was something you said when sledding down a hill. Kids could be seen riding their bikes and playing baseball in the park. Many things have changed in the past few decades. Parents are busy and automatic entertainment is almost a must. The problem is that with every new electronic gadget that appears on the stage, we up the stakes of the effects these novelties have on America’s growing epidemic of
Saving Cents While Being Supermarket Savvy
By: Mike Bunata | 04/01/2010It’s likely that these last few months you have been feeling the woes of the economic downturn. Your shopping habits and the quality of your meals may be suffering because of a tightening budget. These days it is sometimes easer, and cheaper, to spend five dollars on the Taco Bell 99 cent menu then it is to cook at home. You could actually justify meat, veggies, and calcium, all in a super deluxe taco. A bag of chips at 7-11 is certainly cheaper then a pound of fresh veggies from the local super

Many people turn to fad diets either in desperation or because they are looking for a quick fix to their weight loss problems. The healthiest way to lose weight and keep it off is by permanent lifestyle changes.
The Skinny on Sipping the Pounds Away
By: Mike Bunata | 04/01/2010How many of us really stop to think about how what we drink in a day could effect our weight loss or weight gain? There is lots of talk on watching what we eat while dieting, but not necessarily what we drink. That’s a big dieting mistake. The average American gets a fifth of daily calories from beverages. What you sip on a daily basis can change your metabolism, reduce your total calorie count, and shift your appetite. Which drinks are winners and which are watchers on the path to weight loss?
Keeping it Light When Eating Out
By: Mike Bunata | 04/01/2010Dieting is hard. Dieting is especially hard when eating out. It is a whole lot tougher to control portions and calories when you are not in control of the margarine and cooking oil. It is difficult, but not impossible to keep those New Years resolutions and still not have to do the dishes. Here are a few things you can do to keep your weight under control when eating out.
Keeping your Afternoon Energy Alive Without Dumping Your Diet
By: Mike Bunata | 04/01/2010Lunch is over. You are nice and full. Laying your head down on the desk and taking a nap sure would be nice right about now. Does this sound like you? Do you find it hard to concentrate around 4 pm? Do you feel sluggish with low energy and have trouble thinking clearly?
