Good Foods For Weight Loss - 5 Quick Tips for Choosing Good Foods For Weight Loss

The Right Combination
There are many good foods for weight loss but they must be used in the correct combinations for you to effectively lose weight.  Your muscles depend on protein to maintain a healthy body mass.  If not properly fueled your body will burn valuable lean muscle to provide energy instead of burning fat.  You need to intake a proper balance of proteins, carbohydrates and fats in order to achieve the trim healthy body you want to have.

Educate Yourself
Making the right choices isn’t really a difficult task once you learn exactly what are “good” choices.  The first example that comes to mind is carrots; most people think that eating carrots and celery sticks are an excellent choice of good foods for weight loss.  Wrong!  Sorry but those carrots actually turn into bad sugars when eaten by themselves (or with celery).  If you add a good protein like yogurt, tuna or grilled chicken breast with those carrots they now become a fundamental part in the fight against fat tissue in your body.

Making Good Choices
One of the keys in choosing good foods for weight loss is making sure you choose the right combinations.  You will want to stay away from “root” vegetables, things like beets, potatoes, parsnips, you know the things that are harvested from the ground.  These items generally have high glycemic loads, which cause the blood sugars to elevate, yes this does give the body a brief energy lift but unfortunately they also contribute to weight gain.

Eat More Protein
Protein is at the top of the list when it comes to good foods for weight loss.  The average person does not take in anywhere near the proper amount of protein that his or her body requires.  Most people only get about 40 to 60 grams when they should be getting 100 to 150 grams.  One trick is to combine protein with good carbohydrates; the two will then work together in the body to naturally burn its own fat.

Carbohydrates
Be careful when choosing your fruits and vegetables, as a rule of thumb it is advisable to avoid most fruits and vegetables with a white flesh.  Items like potatoes, pears, apples, bananas and most corn and flour products like breads and pasta.  I like to refer to these foods as trigger foods, most of which are low fiber foods that are easily eaten in large portions and will ultimately contribute to weight gain.

Coming from a family of 6 being the youngest, I grew up with overweight and obese parents and siblings‘, struggling with weight issues myself. Moving on with my life, my first son was diagnosed with ADHD. We tried six different drugs and nothing seemed to help.

At that point I began to research natural alternatives and by doing so I began to learn a lot of interesting information about the human body and its functionality.

Today after being in the health, nutrition and weight loss industry for eight years, I have learned that most issues including weight loss lead back to the body itself and proper nutrition.

Over the years I have seen so many theories, programs and bogus information that all ultimately lead to failure. I feel people deserve to know the truth! Just remember you can do it, you just have to put your mind to it!
