How dangerous is belly fat

Having extra weight is dangerous in itself however having extra belly fat can be deadly. A New England Journal of Medicine study recently released their findings that too much belly fat can increase your risk of dying from diabetes, cancer, stroke, and heart disease. Extra belly fat has also proved to triple your risk of dementia. The scariest discovery the study findings were for every extra 2 inches of belly fat you have you increase your risk of dying by 17%.

Obesity is rapidly taking over our country with 8 out of 10 people over the age of 25 are considered overweight. More than 1 billion people worldwide are overweight. The statistics are astonishing.

With statistics like these why are we still overweight? One reason is there are too many different weight loss programs, weight loss plans, fad diets, and diet pills. The diet industry is flooded with bad advice and misleading statements. The ads are so compelling you feel you have to try out whatever is being sold to get rid of belly fat. Only to find you lost your money not your weight.

Another reason why we stay overweight is lack of knowledge about foods. With all the programs you have already tried out how many of them taught you about foods and what will kick start your metabolism or what will keep piling the pounds on? Not even some of the really big named weight loss programs will teach you these things, why would they when you’re paying them over and over again to tell you what to eat.

You don’t need to follow a fad diet, take diet pills, or eat foods that your order through the mail to lose dangerous belly fat. You don’t need to pay for worthless programs that will not give you the knowledge you need to get rid of belly fat and keep it off.

You do need knowledge about what foods to eat that will boost your metabolism and burn belly fat. You need to know what foods to stay away from in order to decrease your chance of putting the pounds back on. You need to know the proper exercises that will decrease belly fat while working out your entire body.
