Lack Of Time, Energy And Money Is No Excuse For Being Overweight And Out Of Shape!

If you are overweight and out of shape, you probably have good intentions for being healthy but for one reason or another you just can not seem to get started. It costs too much money for health Foods. Gym memberships are too expensive. There is not enough time in your schedule for exercise. You do not have enough energy. Are these the real reasons you are procrastinating with your heath goals or are they just excuses to mask the fact that you are comfortably lazy?

It is not uncommon to want to be sedentary. Nobody thinks sweating to the oldies is as much fun as just listening to old records. If you knew of a way that you could exercise without it seeming like hard work, and without it costing you time and money, would you be at least interested in giving it a try? If not, you really are just lazy. Stop reading and go grab another bag of cookies. If you are indeed serious about your health like you say, then keep reading.

If you want to get most of the benefits from a hard workout without working hard at all, there are a few secrets you must be aware of.

The first secret is there is no such thing as a free lunch, especially when it comes to exercise. You will have to put forth some effort. Some effort to not eat bad anymore. Some effort to move more. Some effort to set aside 30 minutes each day. The key word here is SOME. Some is not a lot. Trust me, anyone can handle SOME.

The second secret is that the most difficult part of becoming a healthy person is deciding to start. Once you have overcome this and get yourself into a healthy routine, you are on easy street! How can making this life altering change in the way you live be so easy, you ask? Because being healthy is an addiction, just like eating bad. Once you start you will not want to stop. You will want to stay healthy.

Here is how you get over that hurdle called STARTING. You take baby steps each and every day, slowly. If your ultimate goal is to run a marathon, and you are 100 pounds overweight with little ambition, start by walking around the block. Then tomorrow you walk around 2 blocks. Then the following day you walk around 2 blocks and jog around one block. Get the picture?

Not only is this a sure-fire way to get started, but pacing yourself is the healthiest way to exercise for many reasons. It alleviates lower back pain, burns more calories, shrinks your waist line, strengthens your immune system, relieves stress and lowers cholesterol. Most of all, working out slowly does not feel like work! You will find it quite relaxing, actually.

The most important reason you do not want to try to run 5 miles on your first day of activity is simple. Slow and steady wins the race. You do not want to burn yourself out because that not only leads to physical damage to your body, but you will give up and never try again. Small consistent action and improvements on a daily basis is how you should strive to reach a goal successfully.

Notice how I used walking and running as an example? That is because they are not only great exercise, but they are free! You do not need a gym, and if you are starting by walking around the block, all you need is 5 minutes. If you do not have 5 minutes to dedicate to your health every day, you need to readjust your priorities. Don't like walking or jogging? Dust off that bicycle that used to bring a smile to your face when you were a child. Your health is not something you should skimp on.

This brings me to my next secret. How can you afford to eat healthy when everyone knows health foods are far more expensive than junk foods? It comes down to simple math...and a willingness to change your eating habits. Say you want to buy a weight loss program that will give your body proper nutrition at the same time. It costs $100 but it consists of meal replacement shakes. $100 seems like a lot, but add up how much you are spending already on meals. I bet it is just about equal if not more expensive to eat poorly.

Think about it. Your food bill will decrease substantially. Not only would you be cutting back on the processed foods you buy at the grocery store, but you also will not be hitting the vending machines and spending money on ice cream that you know you should not be eating at night. When you provide your body with proper nutrition, you will begin to feel as though you want to eat healthier. Remember...being healthy is an addiction. It is true for the eating part as well as the exercise part.

I lost 70 pounds in 4 months and have kept it off for over 15 years, but only after struggling for years doing things the wrong way! When you give your body the right nutrition, magical things start to happen that you never thought possible. For me it was relieving my lifelong chronic asthma that freed me from  the burden of prescription medications. I did not think for once of ever wanting to return to my old habits.

So if you do not think you have the time, money or energy to start putting your health at the top of your priority list, think again. Where there is a will, there is a way. Some people spend all day along with their entire paychecks to stay fit and healthy, but it is not necessary. Simply make a conscience decision to start doing something small to get the ball rolling in the right direction. For things to change, you have got to change.
