Why is it so important to choose the right diet plan? Don`t all diets do the same thing, where fat people eat less, lose weight and hey presto end result a slim you, so why all the fuss. How right this assumption, diets are about calorie counting in a bid to shed excess pounds, however following the wrong dietary plan can cause serious complications to ones health. Remember that it is not only obese people who enjoy eating healthily Consumption of food portions in moderation is the key to help a person slim down.

A common question asked by people who may have been advised to join a slimming club or go on a diet is "Why", I am happy the way I am standing 5"2 and weighing 14 stone, this is a perfectly reasonable question, however would a person not be happier and healthier if they were 5"2 and 8 stone.

Eating healthy foods will keep you fit and in great shape physically and mentally because you know you are servicing your body in the best possible way. A healthy diet combined with light physical exercise is a sure way to speed up the process of losing weight fast Obesity is a very dangerous condition. If you are overweight you run the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or even a stroke. Other dangers rising from fatness include the body`s respiratory organs being affected. Conditions such as arthritis, gallbladder disease, sleep apnea, and osteoarthritis are just a few to mention that can also occur if you are overweight.

Some people are oblivious to the fact that they are not of a healthy size and continue to do what they do unintentionally in some cases. If you are unsure as to whether you are categorized as overweight then not to worry because there are simple steps you can take to find out. First you need to figure out your body mass index (BMI). Women with a BMI of 25 to 29.9 are usually considered overweight. Women with a BMI of 30 or more are listed under the obese category. All adults aged eighteen and over with a BMI of 25 or more are susceptible to the health risks mentioned above. Unhealthy diets that cause weight gain i.e. eating junk food washed down with alcohol can cause premature death

The more BMI is allowed to rise as do the health risks also. Careful planning of any diet will reward in the way of leading a healthy happy lifestyle, where you can walk with out losing your breath or better still sit comfortably in a seat on a plane.

Get into the habit of eating nutrient-packed foods daily. Stay within your allotted calorie intake, do not exceed the limit because what you set out to achieve will show a disappointing no weight loss result Eat fresh fruit if possible. Frozen fruit canned or dried is better than fruit squash. If you are embarking on a 2,000 calorie controlled diet your intake will include two pieces of fruit each day e.g. small banana, large orange, and 1/4 cup of dried fruit (peaches or apricots).
When cooking your vegetables have a variety to hand so as not to get tired of eating the same thing. Variety will help in your victory of eating healthily. Dark green leafy vegetables are very healthy indeed, broccoli, kale, spring cabbage and spinach. Carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and winter squash makes tasty eating in most diets,(depending on the diet) also peas pinto beans, kidney beans, black beans, garbanzo beans, split peas and lentils. Essential healthy edibles should always be on the menu.

Each individual will see diets in a different way along with what they expect from the actual diet itself. You may be the type of person who is looking for a prescriptive diet - one with guidance telling you what and how much to eat at each meal time? We then have the calorie counting option that people find more to their taste where they check calories contained within each food product.

The Zone diet is popular among dieters who are good at organising their meals down to the percentage of carbohydrate, fat and protein - specifically at a ratio of 40-30-30. This particular diet plan is very specific. Methods used depend on sex (female/Male), activity level, and current percentage of body fat. In the UK one in five adults suffers from obesity.

A diet will fail to deliver positive results if you fail to abide by the guidelines.

Before engaging into whatever diets you choose consult your doctor or dietician. Dieting does not have to be costly, however if you want to shape up and slim down then some diet foods may be priced a little higher than others. Remember, in for a penny in for a "pound" (excuse the pun.)
