Spirulina: Earth's Most Complete Superfood

Spirulina: Earth's Most Complete Superfood

In this rush-rush hurried world it's often easier to grab at fast food instead of preparing a healthy meal. If you have three minutes and a blender, there's no reason to settle for anything less than a protein-packed spirulina shake that makes a splendid breakfast or lunch. Spirulina is a variety of blue-green algae that packs a walloping sixty-percent protein-- much more than any meat source. Spirulina also provides a healthy dose of B Vitamins and is one of very few non-meat sources for these essential vitamins. You can find spirulina in most health food stores and co-ops.

Go for the tablet form when you're really in a hurry or mix up the following smoothie for a complete meal:

SPIRULINA SMOOTHIE

1 Tablespoon Spirulina powder

2 Cups fruit juice- apple is our favorite

1 Banana- freeze beforehand for an icy milkshake

1/4 Cup raw almonds or sunflower seeds

Put juice and Spirulina powder in blender jar and start spinning. Drop in banana and nuts and whirl until thick and blended. Drink up and enjoy added energy and immune-system health.

Drink at least one Spirulina shake a day and soon you'll notice the difference-- rather than filling up on less-than-healthy burgers and fries you will attain and maintain optimum health. Feel lighter and enjoy the health benefits of vegetable protein and the nutritional boost from this magical green superfood.
