THE IDEAL BREAKFAST
It’s not surprising to see such a high level of obesity and food related illnesses when we take into account that the majority of people skip the most important meal of the day: breakfast.
An individual who doesn’t eat anything for breakfast tends to suffer from fatigue, headaches, dizziness, higher levels of stress, hair loss and trouble controlling blood sugar levels which can lead to hypoglycemia or diabetes.
But eating the wrong breakfast can be just as harmful to your health as not eating anything at all. People who eat breakfasts that are high in sugar and carbohydrates, such as toast and cereal, tend to feel tired by midmorning y get frequent sugar and coffee cravings. On the other hand, people who eat heavy meals such as eggs and bacon, generally suffer from high blood pressure, cholesterol and a slow metabolism that can lead to a weight problem.
Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day because it determines what your energy and hunger levels are going to be for the rest of the day. A person that eats the wrong foods for breakfast will feel much more fatigued during the day and crave junk food and energy drinks.
The ideal breakfast is based on light but nutritious foods that are high in protein and fiber, and have the right carbs. The best source of protein for breakfast can be found in egg whites, cottage cheese and yogurts, and nuts. And the best source of fiber and good carbs can be found in fruit. Protein is in charge of repairing muscle and maintaining hunger levels low, and good carbs provide the body with long term energy.
So throw away that cereal that is wrecking your sugar levels, get rid of that bacon that is clogging your arteries, and instead, eat a delicious veggie omelet or an amazing fruit and nut parfait.
