The Top 10 Foods to Lose Weight

Here are the top 10 foods that you can eat to maintain your weight, or even lose weight! With the right foods and proper exercise, losing weight is possible. However, be realistic with your weight loss goals. Most people give up half-way, but I am sure you do not wish to be part of the statistics.

#1: Salmom - Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which help to improve the function of insulin. Insulin is used to control the sugar levels in your blood, which in turn helps to curb your food cravings.

#2: Green Tea - Grean tea is rich in catechin polyphenol which helps to increase your metabolic rate. Grean tea is extremely popular in Japan for its weight loss properties.

#3: Berries - They are rich in antioxidants and fibre. Fibre may help prevent some fat from being absorbed into the body. Choose from strawberries, blueberries and cranberries. My favourite? Strawberries.

#4: Diary products - Diary products such as milk, yogurt & cheese are rich in calcium which helps to burn fats instead of storing them in the body. Go for those low-fat diary products.

#5: Apples - Apples are rich in fibre as well. They give the feeling of 'fullness'. Research has shown that those who ate apples before a meal consumed less calories than those who didn't. Don't forget the many vitamins that an apple contains as well.

#6: Dark chocolates - They contain chemicals that help to prevent heart diseases, stroke and diabetes. They are also low in sugars and fats. Avoid white & milk chocolate if possible.

#7: Nuts! - Macadamias, almonds, walnuts, pecans and cashews contain fibre and lots of minerals. However, overeating them will make you fat instead! Go easy on the salt as well.

#8: Chillies - Chillies contain capsaicin that helps the body to burn energy for around 20 minutes after eating. Those who take chillies regularly are also at a lower risk of stomach & colon cancers. Peppers are equally good.

#9: Olive Oil - Olive oil contains monosaturated fats that are good for the heart. It also helps to curb your appetite.

#10: Water - Haven't we said enough? Water helps to flush down those toxins and keep your body healthy. This is also the best drink compared to those sugar-laden drinks. Absolutely no calories.

Losing weight is a process and should be treated like one. There is no short-cut to it. However, with the proper guidance and preservance, it is not difficult to lose weight. We need that little help sometimes. I have come across many bloggers who have successfully lost weight, and they were really inspirational.
