HOW?
In last month’s article, we discussed the recent ground breaking information that is coming through regarding the Raw Food Lifestyle currently sweeping through the UK ‘s Yoga and Nutrition sub cultures.
We summed up the medicinal and spiritual advancements to be achieved through the suggested programme and on paper it looked good. From my personal experience, it’s the way forward!
I had no idea that after years of Yoga practise, you could advance yet again onto another level of vibrant good health. Well, at this moment in time, here it is:
If you are anything like me, you will want to get started yesterday. But to really succeed and stay committed to the diet there are crucial strategies that must be in place.
Now that we know we should be eating a diet rich in raw plant foods; what do we do? How do we do it? How do we make the transition? How do we stay balanced?
Brilliant Questions!
David Wolfe, author of The Sunfood Diet Success System and pioneer of www.rawfood.com, has discovered invaluable information; He calls this breakthrough The Sunfood Triangle.
The crucial 5th Element to success is that to achieve this programme, you must keep these 3 dimensions in perfect balance, to achieve inner harmony.
1. Green leafy vegetables
2. Sweet fruits/foods
3. Fatty Foods
If one of these food classes is missing in the diet for a significant period of time (few weeks – several months), imbalances will occur. We need to eat all 3 in balance every day. When I have kept with this pattern, I have attained a good dietary balance, and made noticeable advancements into the realms of extraordinary health and clarity.
Anyone who makes 80% of their diet from this triangle will begin to feel a startling new level of magic and transformation at play in their life.
At the very centre of the Triangle are the non-sweet fruits (cucumbers, okra, tomatoes, noni and bell peppers) These fruits are perfect for snacks. The ideal is to include a balance of foods from each section of the sunfood triangle with each meal, although you can have two in one meal and the third later.
Chlorophyll
When you eat greens you will become calm, grounded, centred and earthed. Greens bring you strength; the leaves are transformed into the structure of the body. You just have to look at horses; they only eat grass yet are majestic in strength, muscle structure and sheer power of speed and reflex response!
Where does the cow get its calcium from for its milk? From green grass of course!
Green leaves cleanse the liver, refresh the lungs, soothe and calm the nerves, and release tension and pains from within the back and surrounding areas. Green leaves relieve pain. For all yogis: drink more green juices to improve your flexibility.
Sugars
Eat natural sugars for brain fuel. Clear thought and speech is dependant on blood sugar. Our brains run primarily on oxygen and glucose. Glucose is the fuel of our being. The more mentally and physically active we are, the more fuel (sugar) you can burn off. Less activity naturally requires fewer sugars. Wonderful sugars include Organic sweet fruits, wild honey (not orchard grown), agave cactus nectar, yacon root syrup etc.Refined and processed sugars need to be removed from the diet, immediately.
Avid lovers of natural sugars, tend to be zesty and drawn to lavish themselves in the Sun.
Fats
Eat raw plant fats for beauty, lusciousness, radiant and luminescent gorgeousness. They make the skin and hair shine, as well as lubricate the mucus linings and joints of the body. Raw fats are the emollients of the body.
Excellent fats include avocados, durians, olives, young coconuts, nuts, seeds, olive oils and seed oils.(eg hemp and flax) These fats can help to protect you from pollution and the harshness of modern- day urban living. They insulate our nerves and give us robustness within our nervous system.
Cooked fats are thick, heavy and have a deranged structure. They clog our blood, arteries and lymphatic systems. This naturally results in excessive weight gain and heart disease.
Now hear this!
Raw plant fats DO NOT cause the body to gain excessive weight, unless one totally overeats unsoaked nuts. In fact eating raw plant fats, results in people naturally shedding excess fat from their bodies. Raw plant fat contains lipase enzymes, which actually burn body fat. Each raw fatty acid replaces each cooked trans-fatty acid. Isn’t that fantastic?
Other Variations of The Sunfood Triangle
To lose weight change the triangle to: 50% Chlorophyll, 50% Sugars and 0% Fats.
The best snack foods whilst losing weight are raw cacao beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, bell peppers and celery, as they all contain few, if any calories. Cacao beans are an excellent natural appetite suppressant. Mmmm raw chocolate can help you loose weight!!!
To gain weight change the triangle to: 42% Chlorophyll, 16% Sugars and 42% Fats.
The secret to gaining weight and strength is eating greens and fats together, with fewer sugars. Also adding Superfoods such as, raw hemp protein, maca and blue green algae, will also deeply assist.
Again, just think of a gorilla, the strongest and heaviest animal in the world who thrives on greens and shoots!
To Feed Children change the triangle to: 40% Chlorophyll, 20% Sugars and 40% Fats.
Calcium and magnesium are extremely important for a child’s diet and they can gain this from green leaves or green juices, You can sweeten greens juice by adding either apples or pears.
Pregnant mothers benefit from balancing their diet with more greens and fats with lots of variety to feed the growing baby. An ample supply of B12 is also vital for children and breast-feeding mothers. Views vary, but there is a strong notion that B12 supplements are beneficial for vegans.
To Feed the Elderly change the triangle to 40% Chlorophyll, 20% Sugars and 40% fats.
Elderly people require additional Amino acids, as the liver’s pool of these acids diminishes with age. Amino acids are found in wonderful seeds such as, Hemp, Flax and Pumpkin, and Superfoods such as bee pollen, propolis and spirulina. The two raw foods known to have extreme longevity properties are royal jelly, wolf or goji Berries. These should be eaten daily as part of maintaining your youth!
Eating to overcome Candida: Change the triangle to: 50% Chlorophyll, 0% Sugars and 50% Fats.
Candida is such a common condition that results in bloating, thrush, athlete’s foot, clouded thinking, depression and exhaustion. Sugar, dairy and wheat feed this fungal bacteria. Therefore to overcome this condition, we must starve it of its food source. Candida loves damp, dark places, so more skin exposure to direct sunlight is a must as yeasts and fungi are destroyed by direct sunlight.
Do not take fruit juice if you have Candida, and take ample amounts of probiotics to stabilise the balance of bacteria within your digestive system.
You can increase your intake of sugary fruits once the body is cleansed and the Candida symptoms have disappeared.
Eating for Mental Clarity change the triangle to: 100% Sugars
To achieve maximum clarity of mind, fast or eat only one type of juicy fruit for several days.
In the final article we shall reveal the vital, immortal secrets of the Gods…
