weight loss | lose weight | healthy diet | eat healthy | burgers | fried foods
With a fast food joint or a restaurant around every corner, it is often difficult to stay away from unhealthy meals. Most of our calorie laden food consumption occurs outside of the house. We find something enticing on the menu and we never have the privilege of looking over the nutrition content. Unknowingly we consume as many as 1,520 calories in a matter of 10 minutes. That is quite a high number given that a 2,000 calorie diet is the daily norm. With just that one meal we nearly attain our daily calorie intake. Quick weight loss or any type of weight loss it nearly impossible with that type of diet. So what are some of these foods and how can we avoid them?
Let’s start off with burgers. Yes they may seem harmless but they can pack quite a punch, to your waistline that is. When we go out for a burger we no longer have the simple choice of pickle or no pickle. Now days, we get to decide how many stacks of meat we want, how many stacks of cheese, how many stacks of bread, how many pieces of bacon. Some of these burgers will come with three stacks of meat, cheese, and bread, and about 8 strips of bacon. The amount of calories we consume is tragic. Some of these monstrous creations have up to 1,520 calories, 111 grams of fat, 47 grams of saturated fat, and 2,760 mg of sodium. We can simply dream about maintaining our weight or achieving quick weight loss when we eat this way.
Other items on our list include all things fried. Everything now days is available fried. A recent article even confirms that a Texas fair sold deep fried cola. Amazing! Whenever we are at a restaurant, majority of the appetizers we love so dearly are deep fried. Take for example the deep fried onion appetizer which is available at most restaurants. This pre-meal appetizer can have 800 calories, 58 grams of fat, 22 grams of saturated fat, and 1,520 milligrams of sodium, and that’s without the dipping sauce. So as you can see, we often consume these meals without realizing what we are putting into our bodies. While at restaurants, try to order healthier alternatives, such as lean meats or fish, preferably grilled. These are just a few healthy diet and weight loss tips.
