5 Approaches of a Sales Letter to Increase Traffic Conversion

A Sales Letter through the electronic media is the counterpart of the sales people in the physical world. With this basic fact, the sales letter has a big role in increasing traffic conversion especially when a huge amount of traffic is being expected to be directed to a web page.

Since it serves as a follow up on the potential customers, the sales letter must appear to be honest and caring as the initial motive is to compel the viewers to take part of the offer. The viewers are human so strategies to touch emotions are very applicable. There are approaches that will help develop the page into a virtual sales person.

1. Bring the product as a solution to a certain problem that immediately needs attention. The potential customers must learn about some things, problems, or situations that he or she can relate with, and then introduce the product or service as the answer to these. A brief narration would work, followed by the name of the product.

This does not only promote the product or service but also the confidence of the viewers leading to trust what the page is saying.  It also encourages the viewers to continue reading on in order to know how this product or service could be the solution he or she has been looking for.

2. Use bullets to state the benefits. It is easier to comprehend and remember the facts stressed in bullets than in paragraphs. This works best in stating the benefits because it somehow emphasizes on the facts; as it is organized in a way that helps the brain remember the details in an easier way.

In addition, the benefits must not be mixed up with the features of the product or service. These two words are very different. The features are about how a product looks like or how a service is being rendered. The benefits are about what advantages a consumer can get from the product or service that are usually the results from the features.

3. For a multiple category benefits, there must be a good division per category. Every division must be easy to understand. It would be helpful to have titles per category.

4. Though the benefits will surely sound compelling to the viewers, do not state all of them. Knowing everything that a consumer can get from the product or service may lead to loss of interest to give it a try because the experience to do it has already been read. Keep some secrets for the potential customers to discover on their own.

5. Refrain from being self-centered. Discuss details focusing on the viewers; using more of “you” than “I” gives the feeling of being caring and selfless, shows concern and security. The content must be structured to speak about what the prospects can get and not just what is being offered.

Effective content of a sales letter must be very persuasive. It must be able to stand alone in keeping the viewers attention until they decide to purchase. When huge amount of traffic is expected to be directed to the site, the sales letters to be sent to the prospects must be surely effective. Next to this, a dramatic increase in sales can be expected.
