Google Adsense is a marketing/advertising program which involves you, as a blog or website owner, signing up for an account with Google Adsense. Once you do this and are approved then you place some code provided by Google on your site/blog and they will then populate that code with advertisements which are relevant and highly targeted to the content of your site and each individual page.
The returns on any individual site can be pretty small but the beauty of the program is that you can build many, many blogs which are targeted at specific markets and the combination of multiple sites/blogs each of which will earn relatively small money will lead to good passive income provided you go after the correct type of market with your site.
What sort of market is that? The searchers who are already looking for a particular product. By this I mean you will optimize your click through rate and income by building multiple, small blogs which are optimized around specific products that people are searching for.
People who type a specific product into their Google search engine are generally looking for information about that product with a view to buying it. They are not seekers of general information or doing a school project-they are looking for the best deals or prices on specific products and the contextual, targeted advertisements served up by Google will allow them, once they have read your content on that product, to see the best prices/deals etc. for that specific product.
And that is what they are looking for. You provide them with product information, product reviews and then you want them to click on the Adsense advertisement which is placed on your page and these searchers are looking for that specific product so the chances of them clicking on the ad is pretty high.
This gives you a high click through rate and if you have optimized your site for Adsense each small site can become a small but steady income earner which combined with multiple other small sites will see you with a decent online income in a short period of time.
