One type of work that caught my interests is online tutoring. Once I read about it, I already saw myself doing online tutorship. Images of my past work as a tutor flashed back in my mind. To me it is a very fulfilling job, it is one of the things I like doing. It always makes me feel proud whenever I see my students succeed in an exam that we prepared for and especially when they express appreciation for that.
I was once upon a time an officer of our schools mechanical engineering society. Because of the large percentage of students having difficulty with major subjects, we saw the need for tutorship and I was volunteered by my co-officers to teach. We use to meet informally in certain places, or their own homes. If internet were commonplace during that time, we probably taught online.
Tutoring online has similar benefits with other online jobs. No time wasted traveling from your home to the workplace and vice versa, and other activities that goes with it; dressing up and eating your breakfast, because you can eat while working. For stay at home parents they can get to work while supervising their little children. You can shift easily from one student to the next, even if they were miles apart; it is even possible to teach two students at the same time. You could tolerate working for long hours; anyway, you are at the comfort of your own home.
You can take frequent mini breaks for you to lasts for a long time working. Teaching can be done through messengers. Short quizzes could be sent through e-mails accomplished and returned after checking. Certain tools like virtual blackboards are available. Cameras can be used, instructional video style teaching. Interested people can apply for positions in certain companies offering online tutorship. Setup your own website where you could teach. Certifications are available for those working in companies. What I like most about tutorials is that, students here are surely more cooperative and eager to learn since they are the ones who came to you and hired you in the first place.
