Fail to Plan - Plan to Fail - this adage is certainly true in online business.

So you have decided that you might like to work from home and earn an income from the internet. It is possible, millions of us make money from the internet every day. Millions also attempt to make money from the internet and fail.

The reasons for failure often stem from lack of planning, lack of research, lack of commitment, lack of effort, lack of activity, lack of knowledge or simply expecting it to just happen.

Before you start your online adventure, you must decide which area you are going to operate in, i.e. Choose your Niche. It is advised to choose a niche where you may have some personal interest or passion, choose one where there is an interest level, choose one where the potential buyers have disposable income and a credit card!

Before you start you must also decide what you want from the business - Will it be a part time business to supplement your existing income?, do you plan to do this full time?, How much time can you dedicate to the business? How disciplined will you be? Remember one thing about working from home for yourself, there is no one to hold you accountable (Get a coach!).

Every online business needs a good deal of effort to initially gain traction and if the effort is given at the outset, it will always stand to you.

Many people make the mistake of spending all their time learning and not enough time doing - allocate no more than 20% of your time for learning but be disciplined about learning. The internet is ever changing and it is very important to keep an open mind and continually work on embraching the changes that are happening.

Follow the process - Dream, Goal, Plan and Action before you start your adventure. Allow yourself to dream and dream big - this is your "Why". Why do you want this new online business, what difference will it make to your life and what sacrifices are you prepared to make in order for this to happen and what are the consequenses if it does not happen.

Goals - these are the milestone on the way to achieveing your dream - they need to be SMART goals that stretch you

Plan - What activities do you need to do to achieve your goals and specifically what activities do you need to do every day for the next 90 days.

Action - Do the work, continuously and consistently and measure your results

Speak to as many people as you can who have already succeeded online and hang out with the people.
