My background has always been in a sales environement. I guess my move into online sales was inevitable as I spend most of my working day ON one! I'm married with 2 grown up kids who could out-smart this PC any day! The site URL is http://njrinformationproducts.yolasite.com/
For years and years, so many I've lost count, it has always been a secret ambition of mine to "own my own business". BUT, not the conventional bricks and mortar type, or even one where I had to slog around the clock. Or wash someones dogs for a living. I guess, like most people, I wanted a means to make money without the effort! (Reality check - somewhat unlikely!).
Still, undaunted, I looked at loads of crazy methods. And some were crazier than others. And that's about ALL I did - look! They seemed okay on the surface. Then came the crunch..."for a mere £59.95 I can show you how to..." etc etc, we've all been there. Eventually, however, I took the proverbial bull by the sharp bits and started something. Only a small idea, but my own. I was literally starting from scratch.
I signed up with High Profits and Clickbank as well as putting a small website together through a free offer via Yola. The result has just recently been published and I have to say it's not too bad for a first attempt. Needless to say, there were many alterations and changes of colour and necessary "housekeeping" to get it right.
My initial thought was "WOW! My passport to the easy life with untold wealth!" Then reality came a-knocking. I realised that if I was going to get this enterprise off the starting blocks, I'd need to make folk aware the site was there in the first place! DOH! My initial phase was via some press releases, which have had some hits. I also signed up with Twitter to spread the word about. And, yes, article directories. Of which this is the first.
Interestingly enough, whenever you hunt around for worthwhile products for your site, it interests me how you can be DELUGED with spam. It really is an information overload. Most of it is rubbish and gets deleted, but there are some good things in there. Some of which have given me more ideas for additional product later on. Having regularly checked both my High Profits & Clickbank accounts, I'm encouraged to see several hits from my site, but nothing tangible (saleswise) as yet. Hope springs eternal, or something of that ilk!
I was VERY encouraged in reading an article about remaining positive and staying focussed. It is SO easy to become disillusioned and downhearted when it seems everyone else seems to be coining it in. I know there is a LOT of work ahead, not least of which is publicising my enterprise. I have a lot of faith in what I've put together, I guess it's only a matter of time. Believe me, there have been many days where I've literally been grasping at straws for encouragement!
As I read somewhere else: "Money just happens". Here's hoping that author was right!
