Change is necessary and a part of any business life. It is needed if you really want to succeed in the field that you are in. Nevertheless, change does not come without any risks. Any business owner should be aware that change and risks come in a package. If you want to end up losing more business than what you should have gained, you need to be aware of the risks involved with change.
So why do you need change? For the simple reason that no business can remain in business by looking outdated and old-fashioned. Nobody likes to see printed marketing tools for example (e.g. booklet printing, brochure printing, print catalogs) that have information that looks like it needs updating. A person generally likes to have something new to look at every time. They would want to choose items from custom catalogs or even with cheap booklet printing that lists new products; not the ones they have seen a couple of months back. Even the design you have in your print collaterals need to vary that it goes with what is fashionable and upbeat at the time it was printed.
Change is also needed if you want to generate customers to your business. At a certain point, you would have reached all the customers you need to reach; hence, you have to generate new ones to keep your business going. With old marketing strategies, you might find it difficult to gain the results you want. People would surely be looking for something new that you can offer. The loyal customers who have been interested with what you have given them would be looking for new ones; while those looking for novel ideas would definitely go for your marketing effort if they see updated and new strategies. The bottom line is you gain a much bigger customer base by giving fresh and upbeat information all the time.
The risk now is losing those that are fond of having things the way they are. Making a lot of changes may be overwhelming to some of your clients who are used to your old marketing strategy. And instead of keeping them, they might just decide to go to someone else. What you can do then to please almost everybody in your target market is to provide change in smaller doses. Smaller and consistently.
You do not need to radically alter your issue of booklet printing for example. You might just want to try out a new color or add a few more to your pages. The key is to apply the difference little by little that your loyal customers may not be engulfed by the new changes at once. It will help them get used to the idea that there will be constant changes done in your marketing strategy.
