Bringing Up the Child

Bringing up the child refers for taking care of the child from the time of his birth to the period of his independency (say, approx. age of 18). Every parent finds it as a very hard task to take care after the child and it becomes even harder when the child is not so easy to handle. The person about whom I am going to talk here also had been a difficult child and made his parents time too complicated. He is my cousin David.

In the beginning of life all children are same (too sweet, too lovely) so I don’t think there is any noticeable or describable difference in between any babies of the world. The differences start growing together with the growth of the baby .So my cousin was also cute till he was of one but after that his activities began to raise up along with him. At that time he was able to walk with his hands but we couldn't sit him on a flat surface without him rolling like a tennis ball. He can’t stand with anybody touching his things. One day his elder sister took his clothes and tried to put it on him then he started shouting .Lord only knows what went through his little head he threw his ball and it hit her near her eye, thank god her eye was saved.

Uncle and aunt didn’t know and really they didn't see the need for professional guidance. They just wanted their sweet baby back. Parenting this child, meant many minutes in that house, deep breathing for control after one of his challenges and simultaneously praying for his good activity.

He was very opinionated: like when he wanted to go to bed, or if he should brush his teeth, or if he should do his chores. He was always violent, though never hateful… for his parents. He was very difficult and used to put up a fuss whenever he demanded anything like a movie camera which was not really useful for him. After some years, when he was around 14 he created another problem; he started playing with uncle’s laptop. Once uncle had prepared his data for the meeting in his laptop but David deleted that file while playing with that laptop. This was only a sample of his brainless activities. He did these blunders repeatedly. From such an early age, he had no control over anything and uncle and aunt had no control over him. So he was a ridiculous child.

However time never remains same forever. He is in his eighteen now and manages his life in his own. Now he is studying B.S.C in computer engineering He has got a freeship for this study due to his good knowledge in computer science. He has turned out to be a parent's dream child - hard working, intelligent and terribly handsome! He is still opinionated. He still has his own way of doing things, but he is also determined and focused.
