As a general rule, students should never pay money for information related to college scholarships, grants, financial aid, and loans. The purpose of all of these awards is to give money to the student - not to take money from the student! At most, the cost of applying for scholarships should be limited to printing, photocopying, and postage. Now that many scholarships can be applied for online, the time you spend doing it can be the only real "cost."

Scholarship programs, asking for money could also be misleading and unethical tricks to gain interest. You could say that their information is available elsewhere - but that's just about true fellowship, they are exclusively for their customers. In this case, you would only pay for the opportunity to get your money back! Also not a good idea of your personal banking and financial services to share information - most programs, you send a payment check, or send the money to the university directly.

If it remains at the college scholarships, always with the free scholarship and to avoid anything that costs only a penny. Legitimate programs are designed to help students, not profits!
