Betting Dancing With the Stars, Season 4

I know that for me, personally, there will never be a Dancing with the Stars champion whom I will love as passionately as I love Apolo Anton Ohno. I also know that this season there is a DREAM TEAM of a Spice Girl and a man who wishes he were a Spice Girl. And I know we'll be keeping an update on the odds all season long!

Melanie Brown (aka Scary Spice) and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
So, this is the dream team. Melanie Brown is a trained entertainer with a ton of dance performance experience and LADIES LOVE MAKSIM. These two should tear up the floor with high energy, very sexy, clean dances. The only variable is whether Scary Spice is back in shape after having recently given birth and if Maksim's pissy personality can stay under wraps so he doesn't get a backhand from Scary.

Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas
In case you missed it, Sabrina Bryan is of Disney fame for her role in The Cheetah Girls. Disney alum tend to do well on this show, but the Cheetah Girls isn't as popular as High School Musical was. Truth is, there may only be room for one perky blonde on this show, and we already love Julianne Hough. I think Sabrina will be gone in the early rounds.

Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough
He's a race car driver married to Ashley Judd, and he's impossibly hot. We kind of think America will respond to a)the fact that he's so nice to look at and b) his good, middle America values (NASCAR driver, married to one of America's sweethearts). He's also paired with last season's winner and America's dollbaby Julianne Hough. We think that, unless he has two left feet, he'll have some staying power.

Mark Cuban and Kym Johnson
I'm embarassed to even have to write about this. If there were an award for "Biggest TV Attention Whore EVER" it would go to Rob and Amber first, Johnny Fairplay second, Tanya from The Real World third and then Mark Cuban. He won't go first because that spot will be reserved for a model or actress with no personality, but he won't last long.

Jennie Garth and Derek Hough
Oh how I love Jennie Garth (and so you do, admit it.). And she's paired with Julianne Hough's brother, Derek, so America will instantly love him, too. I really feel that this may be the year of the woman on Dancing With the Stars, and Jennie has a great a chance as any of them if she's as captivating while dancing as she is while seducing Grant Show in season two of 90210. We think if you're placing early season bets to try to win on a long shot, Jennie's a good bet.

Josie Maran and Alec Mazo
It is a waste of my time to even write about this. You got shafted Alec. Pretty models without much more on their resume are always among the first to go on this show. Josie is like a sacrificial lamb. Enjoy your week or two on the show.

Cameron Mathison and Edyta Sliwinska
He's a soap opera actor, which means a lot of people who watch Dancing With the Stars will already love him. And he's pretty. Stranger things have happened. I just think there are too many compelling personalities on this season for him to compete, unless he is an extremely gifted dancer.

Floyd Mayweather and Karina Smirnoff
Floyd Mayweather is this season's token athlete, but historically athletes have done well on this show. He's also incredibly charismatic. And if he dances as smoothly as he moves in the boxing ring, we think there's a great possibility for him. He won't go early. The odds say so, too, because he's the early favorite along with Scary Spice.

Wayne Newton and Cheryl Burke
Mr. Las Vegas takes on the Dancing With the Stars stage with two-time champion and America's darling Cheryl Burke. The odds are against him. Is he just too much of a relic of an era past to make a connection with the audience? We hope not, because we love us some Wayne Newton.

Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts
What we know: Marie Osmond has a long performance history of singing and dancing. What we also know: She may be a little crazy. What we wonder about: What's she like on stage without Donnie? What we're scared of: Her massive lipstick.

Albert Reed and Anna Trebunskaya
He's and Abercrombie model, which may just be enough on its own given how many women watch this show. That's all I have to say.

Jane Seymour and Tony Dovolani
Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Jane Seymour is coming to Dancing with the Stars. Just one week of her lovely, long hair flowing while she waltzes will win audiences over. We love her. You do, too. We wonder if she's fit enough at her age to take the long haul, though.
