All you have to do is pick six numbers. Seems easy enough, right? Any six numbers, from 1 to 52. It could be the age of your kids. The jersey numbers of your favorite athletes. Birthdays, anniversaries, license plate numbers you see on your way home from work. You can play the same six numbers every day, or mix it up. It's all up to you.

My wife and I have been playing the same six numbers every Monday and Thursday for five years now. 01, 02, 08, 14, 25, 30. That's my birthday (08/25), our son's birthday (01/30), and my wife's birthday (02/14). And twice a week, we watch the TV in dissapointment as the pretty young lady seems to choose every number out of that spinning machine except for the ones on our ticket.

I started to consider the unthinkable - changing the numbers that we had used every drawing for half a decade. I hopped online and started searching for lucky numbers. I came across an audio book that promised to help inspire people to dream of their own personal lucky numbers. It was a free, downloadable audio book. So one night, while my wife Heather was asleep, I downloaded it onto my computer, plugged in the earphones, and listened ...

The lady whose voice appeared on the audio book had short but clear instructions ... I was to drink a large cup of green tea, blindfold myself, lay down on a bed with my legs slightly elevated, and count backwards from 379. My personal lucky numbers would then come to me that night in the form of a dream.

I didn't even tell my wife about it the next day. But sure enough, overnight, I had dreamt of six numbers. 03, 07, 18, 21, 28, 36. I walked into the same deli that I walked into twice a week for five years to get my pick six ticket. Usually, Larry already has the ticket printed out and waiting for me behind the counter. He almost had a heart attack when I told him I had different numbers for him that day.

My wife and I tuned in to the drawing that night. The first two numbers were called ... 28, 03 ... Heather mumbled something about us never having any luck. Two more numbers ... 07, 21 ... I could hardly believe it. Could the lady from the audio book be right? 18 ... 36! She sure was!
