Is There a Way to Win at Roulette? Part 4
What do I do then?
I can walk into a casino, take a look at the History Board, where the spins are recorded, and tell straight away what I am going to bet on.
The robust winning strategy that I devised took a good deal of effort from surfing the hundreds of roulette forums that are out there; putting together an attack and then testing thoroughly. After trialling a good few home-made strategies I came across one that seemed to hold up better than most. It had been vigorously tested by a professional who specialises in roulette and heads up the Gamblers Glen Forum. You should visit it if you can because it’s a den of misfits who like nothing better than to tear each other apart with vitriolic sarcasm and hurtful comments. And while I detest that kind of behaviour they were the instigators of me finding my own winning strategy. If only they’d stop bickering and do more studying they’d probably work it out too.
I looked really closely at why this system seemed to have better results than any of the others even though it failed in the medium, long term. All I needed to do was tweak it a fraction and there it was – a strategy that stood up to long-term testing.
Because the House Edge is always out there I had to find a way of pushing the odds in my favour rather than in the casino’s favour. Any serious roulette player will tell you that the dreaded House Edge will always catch up with you the longer you play. The answer of course is to play smarter by playing shorter sessions. One more ingredient and I would be able to put my strategy to work. I needed a money management plan. This I was fortunate enough to find on another roulette forum. It enabled me to not only push the odds in my favour but also play much shorter sessions.
A session to me is where I have a target of winning $1,000. As soon as I win I walk away. If I should lose $500 (half my target) then I call that a losing session and walk away. During the course of a week I may play 10 sessions and win 7-8 out of 10. With say, 3 losing sessions of 3 x $500 I’ve lost $1,500 for that week. But by winning 7 sessions of $1,000 then I’ve won $7,000 minus the $1,500 leaving me a weekly profit of $5,500. With the winning and losing see-saw I manage to stay out of the eye of the casino ‘watchers’. If they were to add up my annual winnings then they would certainly consider me a target. At the moment I’m a little old man who doesn’t call attention to himself even when I cash out at the end of the day.
